sweet! what color combo did you order? I loved your 430 scud. Don't know if you saw my brief write up in the 458 section, but I rented a 458 in Maranello last month for an hour.... to say it was great is a significant under statement. A car truly befitting of the Cavallino! hope to see it around the 'hood!
Wow, didn't know that was an option. Got a link? Absent, congrats on your cool experience. I loved the Mont Tremblant track when I drove it and can only imagine you must have had doing that at full tilt in a Ferrari. We'll need an Italia picture in the next calendar. Hope to see you and your car at one of the events this summer.
Not sure if it's the same but looks like you can rent one here: http://www.luxeofitaly.com/uk/noleggio-rent-hire/ferrari/458-italia.htm
Did Advanced in 2008. This one was Advanced Speciale (equivalent to Evolution at the factory) with mostly driving Challenge cars and analizing telemetry to improve the times. Unfortunately they did not get the 458s in time for us to try ,Basic and Advanced courses will have them in July.
No worries you'll have your 458 soon enough They're already a few in the US.. Did you get the bug now to get a dedicated track car?
Thinking about it. Ferrari offerred the White Challenge (just one day used at Tremblant) at heavily discounted price ($150k) that really makes it attractive. My only problem is that Autobahn gets boring (no offense to anyone associated with them) after a while and Road America does not offer regular access nor storage. Taking part in Challenge series could be fun,I just don't have enough time to do it. If only I could move to NorCal......
www.pushstart.it was the company I went with. Dutch guy owned it, very nice /personable. The website (I just looked at it) does not mention the 458. I didn't go there with the intent to do this. Opportunity knocked (and it was my 40th birthday)... we were "killing time" before the factory tour. They had 3 430s (coupe, conv, scud), and a Cali. I would not have done it if they did not have the 458. also see here http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=139641406&postcount=16 it was 550 euro for the hour did the drive to Serramazzoni (first pic of me and "my" 458 in the square at Serramazzoni). Did it may 14. Car was 11 days old, less than 1K KM most excellent! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
quite possible! plus, I got to drive it in the hills around "Mecca"! I figured with so many 430s around, I'll eventually get to drive one. but the 458... will be years before there are a lot around Plus, I really love the car. No offense to anyone, but the 430 to my eye is not a beautiful car. Interesting, great performer, etc... but not beautiful. 458 embodies a new Ferrari... unbelieveable performance wrapped in a Victoria Secret Model!
This is actually one of the least expensive opportunities to rent a Ferrari. So far Dreamcarrentals in Las Vegas was IMHO the cheapest by charging about 1 grant for 4 hours. But 550 Euros is less than that. Money and location IMHO are more important than time. BTW: I recognize the Warm Up store. They got some fantastic hard to find items there. Picture from pushstart's website: At any rate you had a great experience. Personally I think driving a 458 through Maranello is a lot more enticing than the factory tour. I did it and was happy I have seen it, but it wasn't that overwhelming (except for the Enzo production line). Given your opportunity I would have actually rented all of them. One after another. That's what I did with Dreamcarrentals until they run out of Ferraris I hadn't tried yet. I also envy you for driving all those challenge cars. I had the pleasure of driving a 348 Challenge and a 355 Challenge, but that's about it. Oh well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
