Hmmm you don't have to know how to fly, but once again, it'll help?

Exactly. You don't need the car to tell you when it's raining or when it's too dark to see.

No need to learn beforehand but of course it helps. Sometimes too much basic knowledge clouds one's mind as I have seen guys who insist on flying their way rather than what the airline wants. They don't last long!

Just have a basic knowledge of the airline/aircraft, go in with an enthusiastic attitude and you'll do just fine. But must have some basic motor skills lah!

But are you local? If yes, you can start sending in your forms when you hit 24/25.

Oh another thing if you don't mind, but I also heard that big airline companies don't hire fresh Pilots with < 250 hours under their belt? So they'll have to start with smaller / low-cost carriers first then?

That's where SQ is unique. They hire freshies AND provide training. So you get to fly the big ones at a young age of late 20s, something that hardly happens in the US, Australia or Europe. Those guys start from commuter planes and work towards the big jets.

Another thing, you can try smaller outfits like Air Asia and Jet Star. I don't think there is any restriction for Singapore males unlike SQ. Age restrictions exist to feed the airforce with young, virile, virgin males!

Can always try JetStar first. I believe they have a cadet pilot programme. Ok, signing out. Headed off to London's Goldmine for lunch. And I promise not to be as cruel as Lung in posting drool worthy pictures of food!

What is it about planes that attract you guys so much? Also, isn't flying a commercial airline incredibly different from flying a military plane or some small acrobatic plane? I would have thought that flying a commercial plane vs flying a small plane is like driving a bus vs driving a sports car.

For The Win!! Haha. Wait, I'll post something up for u, trying to find it on my lappy
Anyway, what proton do you drive?

    ROTFL LOLLL...
    Grrrr...*winkwink*
    Hahaha, good one mate!
    AMEN BRUDDER!!! ;)
190 for a commercial pilot is no biggie, I've seen a MAS Punjabi Captain who was AT LEAST in the 195 range!!! I'm 189 by the way, stopped growing already, sigh :(
Anyway, checked for you, and Air Asia and MAS only have minimum height requirements, not sure about RSAF though.
Not necessarily mate, although I do recommend getting the Flight System G940 from Logitech, probably the best investment I've made so far!! :D
They called me for interview on the 30th of June, 30 shortlisted, 16 spots!!! I hope I don't get screwed because of cables, I hate it when that happens!
:D :D :D Oh by the way, the A350 damn epic man! Reading the specs and making a rough comparison to the A380, this thing is like a carbon fibre reinforced plastic wet dream!

Ah thanks for checking mate, appreciate it!

And it sucks being this tall huh. Head gets bumped on everything, doesn't it? :D

Mmmm I may have to put off that purchase until after the A Levels :p

Off all people, I would not have expected this from you Daniel! You disappoint me!

There's no flight crew in combat / acrobatic planes ;)

Sure sucks to be you guys :D I remember reading that F1 drivers had to be as short as possible in order to minimise weight/drag.
