    Hi Guys,

I have a 308GTSi and have a few questions about disassembly.

I am trying to remove the large rubber piece where the front of the targa top seats up to the body.. Is there a way to remove that without ruining it?

Also, I want to remove the decklid latch and bezel in the door jamb... Does anyone know the steps that are required to remove that?

    Thanks.

If you are talking about the seal along the top of the windscreen, be very careful with it, they are no longer available from Ferrari and as rare as hen's teeth. There was one on E-bay a few days ago - yours for $1000.

I am also interested in removing the deck lid latch handle. Can it be done without removing the cable itself...I just need to refurb the plastic trim piece.

I recently removed both my latch handles. Yes, they can be removed without removing the cable end, but can't be reinstalled without removing the cable. Getting it off with the cable attached really sucks and since you can't reinstall it that way, you may as well just undo the ends at the latch.

It's hard to explain exactly why you can get it off but not back on, but I think you'll understand once you've taken it apart.

You can either buy new black latch housings for $85 from:

    or try to repair yours.

    Good luck,
    Jason

Hey guys, so what steps are taken to remove the decklid latch and the surrounding base and to do so without locking the decklid with no way to reopen???
