+1. I think the darker, more understated shades of red (Rosso Monza, Rosso Fiorano, Rosso Fuoco) really suit the lines of this car.

Is it one of the 3 layer jobbies? Seems to have a lot of depth to it.

Interesting - do you know if all markets get this?

Not sure - I was a bit surprised myself to open the fuel door and find this.

Hmm considering it is in the US then I'm willing to guess it will be in other markets as well.

I think it's standard for all markets.

Do you think that 458 is painted Rosso Fiorano? RF appears quite dark when it is not in the sunshine.

Anyone else prefer the standard (non-sport) wheels?

I think the sport wheels are just so boring and simple. I like the design of the standard rims and would prefer them any day of the week regardless of price and performance.

Regardless of performance? Performance is pretty important....

Is this part of a strategy to make re-fueling faster? Removing and then replacing the traditional fuel cap wastes precious seconds from a the perspective of a pitstop.

I saw this yesterday on a new arrival, just being unloaded and unwrapped at my dealer. There was also a mirror hanger with instructions (mostly cautions) hanging inside. It warned against sticking your finger in the hole. Ha! I guess it would be like that Chinese finger puzzle that gets harder to remove the harder you pull. The detail guy said he saw rust on the torx screws that hold it in but I couldn't see any. The sales man said it wouldn't be a problem since none of his clients would drive in the rain.

What about posting some pictures of the black one that was with the red one?

I still think the 458 is Rosso Fiorano.
The 599 below is Rosso Fuoco>
