Was there another LP560-4 next to the orange Superleggera with aftermarket rims?

Saw a bi-color (gold/pink) Murcielago with LP670-4 SV bodykit along with a nero 430 Spider at Island Shangri-La.

Not taken in HK, but as I'm an HK Fchatter back in the UK here are my pics from a track day at Castle Combe over the weekend. On the Fcar front there's an F40 and a 328 GTS in the car park and a few F430GT's on track.

I took more photos than I thought, the 328 GTS and F40 is way down on page 5 or 6 or thereabouts

Speaking of which, does anyone have intel on HK's allocation?

Reading from the 599 forum, the GTO seems quite some car!

HK market was allocated quite a few cars and is fighting for more as allocation was sold in less than one day. All of the usual suspects bought and many who did not are regretting it. Car will be about HKD6mn tax paid.

I did not buy one and have no second thoughts. I prefer a 458 for daily use in HK and don't see the 599 GTO as a car that I would want to keep over the long term

Reviews are phenomenal. However reviews on the Scud were phenomenal but the successor base model 458 is superior in every way. I suspect the same will be the case for the successor 599. 599 GTO is an end of the line car that Ferrari got right.

Sounds like a very familiar situation in Singapore.
How many buyers on the waiting list in HK? 45 in Singapore.

Not sure but I suspect a lot. 599 has a big following with over 100 on the road in HK

I surely hope that would not be the case as that would totally ruin the "GTO" legacy..

Why is that? Of course the GTO will be worse than the successor. That's how technology works, especially when it comes to exotic cars.

Because these 3 letters are special in Ferrari's history book.

It should not be in the same category as Stradale or Scuderia, that is my opinion anyway.

You and DM could very well be correct about the successor; again, I just don't want to see it turn out that way.

Ferrari and Porsche will mine their heritage to produce limited edition end of model run cars to shift the remaining carcasses. I was also sad to see a Porsche 997GT2RS even though I like the car.

The supercars are an entirely different matter. They will likely carry names that do not rely on evoking images of a glorious predecessor as they will sell in any event. Under that line of thinking, GTO was never going to make it to another supercar. It therefore became an exploitable image like the California.

Personally I am not all that fussed. When I look at my 288GTO I don't feel it is in any way diminished by the 599GTO. 599GTO is a very cool car that will be eclipsed by the successor model just as the 458 in every way eclipses the Scuderia. It is an exciting time for new cars - the rate of progress is unprecedented.

That exhaust looks awesome. Surprised it's not based off a LP640 but an old Murci.
Hoping to see a Zonda sometime soon at a SMD...

3 LP570s at SMD this morning - they're getting popular, aren't they. Not much else special unfortunately
