If it upsets you so much return it as a lemon - I'm sure the dealer will happily give you your money back and then be able to flip it....

You clearly haven't bought it with the intention of driving anyway

He probably bought it to drive it, he's just wondering why it has that much mileage. I wouldn't think they would test it that much?? Plus, delivery. I can see where some of the miles would come from.

It is normal. Acutally they often come with more than 30 miles on them. EVERY Ferrari is tested around Maranello by a testdriver, to make sure everything is OK. The miles, is what is called Delivery Miles. No worries here.

Very normal, no need to worry. All cars (Hondas, Lambos, etc...) have "delivery miles". They test drive them to make sure everything is functioning properly.

Very unusual. My F430 came with negative mileage

It's easy. You just have to check the "negative mileage option" when you buy it. Everyone knows this... :)

I had about 60-70kms on both my F430 and Scuderia when I took delivery of the cars. The dealer should zero the odometer at the PDI.

Just don't ask how hard they drive your car in the first 30 miles; there is a reason its called a shake-down test! Quite fun to see and hear around Maranello!

In my opinion 47km sounds like a reasonable amount. My Mercedes dealer told me that many dealers reset the odometer to 0 when they are delivering cars to customers.

They've been delivering to Europe for some time now. The first US models are just hitting the shores.

I find it strange that it only has 30 miles on it. The test loop is around 41 miles. Never seen or heard of a Ferrari with just 30 miles.

No trial, we just want to see more 458 pictures! Though it is slightly unusual to take delivery of a 458 as ones first Ferrari. I'm assuming it's his first because delivery and test miles are well known by current owners, whom, it would seem, are the beneficiaries for first run 458 production. I simply want to see how others optioned their cars through photos. But to the OP, congrats, what a wonderful machine!

Agreed with all of that. I too am wondering how someone doesn't know about delivery milage (every new car I've ever bought has had delivery milage), but "how can we be expected to believe you??" does seem a little accusatory.
