Here is a different 458 that also appears to be Rosso Fiorano. Note the color of the body in the sunlight here and how it is a similar shade to the rear view of the German 458 pictured earlier (second picture in post #820).

That's the Old Brompton Road, London... and no front pate. Interesting.

Gloss black roof looks substantially worse than satin IMO

All the 458s pictured in the last few posts had the painted sills...not the optional sports stiles...looks pretty good.

I personally perfer the black sills. It makes the body look slimmer and gives more shape to the body.

But, I like that Ferrari let's people decide on this option. It's not expensive and it does add to the personal taste of the owner.

Re the sills...I suspect some buyers overlooked this option. I know I nearly did. All the press pics have the PEXS sills so I wrongly assumed they were standard. I had to get my order changed to add them. I agree they slim the waist of the car. They are a highly effective styling touch.

I have to say the more I see the two tone roof, the less I like it.

Novel plate fitment on the argento car. Looks like he removed the horsey post, attached the plate and then refitted the post. Not entirely successful, IMO.

hmm..I don't think the 16m stripe works well with the 458.

I wonder if the stripe was done by the factory or added later. I don't recall seeing any 458 with a stripe in all the Euro cars that have appeared.
The gray wheels needed the gray sport sills to complete the look. As someone else noted perhaps that sport sill color option was overlooked.

Hey Kevin, I think you can communicate with Todd through that link and yes, I do believe he does some teaching. Todd is gifted to the extent he could practically tell you if the Ferrari factory worker is right or left handed by the way they finished the final corrective paint work :)

Awesome. I'll definitely contact him. I know I'm doing things wrong. If you don't mind me asking, how much does a typical detail from him cost? I'm having a difficult time finding a job that will take me due to my school schedule so I've just resorted to "detailing" cars for friends. It's not nearly as intensive as what he does but I was just looking for a point of reference.

Also, your 458 looks fantastic. Have you had much time to enjoy it yet?

I call Todd every few months and have him go over the car. I take the cars out in most conditions so they get pretty dirty, but I will wash them myself when needed.

I take it each return trip to Todd is not $2,000 a shot, though? Just a top up?

Correct. It's the deep corrective work that takes all the time.

Thanks for the credit Mike. Here are some more pics...

It looks terrible in pictures, but I kind of liked it in person. Then again, this is the only 458 I've seen so I have nothing to compare it to.

It must have been factory, if you have the money and know the right people, I'm sure you can make your own options. This car had some nice options, such as the daytona seats and red inserts. The stripe is defiantly an unusual aspect, but the finish looked factory, identical to any factory 16M stripe. The car's the first delivered through my local dealer, and had just been delivered less than 48hrs prior to the encounter.
