    I know this was discussed in an earlier thread but I can't find it and wanted to share this brochure that compared the Diablo, TR512, and F40. This is a comparison of street cars in the spec that they were being sold to the public in, and the figures are all from Car and Driver as referenced in the pic, so these are third party test results. I know it is easy to crank the boost up on an F40 and get way better numbers, but these are dealer, stock car figures. I should be pointed out that Lamborghini published these figures to show that their figures beat the TR512 across the board, and beat the F40 in most, or was ties or just barely behind in a few categories. I couldn't scan the whole document, but the last column shows the cost and shows the Diablo is 1/2 the cost of the F40, so Lambo thought these stats were good selling points in Lambo vs Ferrari war. I know the F40 is a better track car, but as a street car, these stats show the Diablo better as an all around sports car.

    Vaholtorf, your post has me curious, a question to all. When success has blessed people to the point money is no object, do they buy a Dream Car for its #'s compared to its competition? or....Is it still a passion towards a manufacturer they fell in love with growing up? To me #'s are nice to have, but when your dream is sitting in garage, who really cares. I don't mean the ultra wealthy who buy one of everything to create the super car collection because they can, the guys with the passion?

    Vaholtorf, I'm not bashing your post(after rereading mine it seemed like it could be directed, its not)

    IMO, next to the F1, I really like the F40. Of course in this league the lucky few dont have to choose.

    *phew* I almost thought you said least!

    I don't fully agree though.

    There have been many more 'desirable' Ferrari's since the F40; the F50 and Enzo for example. And yes, I am aware there are very few of them (hence the high resale value), but that does not make them less desirable, just harder to get your hands on one.

    F40 does 0-100 mph in less than 8.3. R&T tested it at 7.7 several times. An F40 would destroy a Diablo. A Diablo GT might be a match. It would actually be an interesting race.

    considering that the diablo has a full leather interior, car audio system, etc... its still pretty fast. Take all that stuff out and that would be a fair comparison... just look at the weight difference on that poster....

    The Diablo is my favourite supercar however those performance figures are mostly incorrect. Basically a Diablo has a higher top speed but the F40 has significantly greater acceleration which would leave the Diablo for dead. Sad but true unfortunately.
