No actually wanted to drive it without the risk of losing alot of money. Would you like to buy something that you thought you would lose your butt on??
You know you are probably right and the fact that it is a Euro car wouldn't bother me as much if the dealer presented it that way and priced it accordingly. I know it sounds cheap but I have made several phone call to respected Ferrari people and they all say I am in the car almost 10 grand too deep. That is from a wholesale perspective. Most Ferrari dealers won't even buy a Euro car. We'll see how this plays out.
Well I watched a dealer in Atlanta try to check in a Euro 360 2 months ago and the computer would not accept the vin #. He was told there was NO WAY he could run the car without the computer taking the vin. The problem is without an identifialbe vin they have no way of detecting a flood, salvage, or theft recovered car.
I looked closer at the carfax and it appears this car was imported very early in 01 with only a few hundred miles on it. You know Ferrari dealers are saying I am 10 grand too high but most of you guys consider this a deal. So needless to say I'M SO CONFUSED!
And that was my opinion too. The problem is I am an 11 hour drive away and the dealer says no refund. If I return the car in person there is no guarantee they do a thing. At this point my best bet is to get them to give me a partial refund.
Yeah the lighter, faster, louder part is cool but I am just concerned about resale value and don't want to be stuck with it. I do plan on upgrading to something else in the future.
I took this 360 out today for a drive with the top down. The sound is freakin incredible!! And the people trying to pick races is pretty fun too! Exept when it is something like a car full of teenagers in a Ford Taurus!
Simple solution. To all of those who are saying the car is a great deal. Buy compvett out at his "steal" price. Woops... So, don't really want a Euro car with a potentially spotty past even at the deal of the century price? Hmmm... Not really surprising. Lots of armchair guys here cheering you on telling you what a great deal it is, but I don't think there's single guy here who thinks that, AND thinks, "I'll step up and buy this car." Or one like it. Nope? Nah, while we all talk a good game, truth is none of us wants to be stuck with a hard to sell Euro car either, at almost any price. Sooo... My advice, grab a lawyer, have him write a nasty letter, AND PARK THE CAR, until this is resolved. Putting a few hundred miles on it, then trying to return it isn't cool either. IF you don't want the car and think you were duped, then it should not be driven while the argument is being carried on. Don't know if you have a legal leg to stand on, but sure seems like you got taken to the car wash on this one. good luck with it, either way.
Nice, just when my fear was starting to fade a little, now this post!! Haha. You are right though. My wife says quite worrying, the deal is done just enjoy the car.

Try and find an American car with the same specs and tell us if you have bought one for that price. I don't understand why euro cars are worth less , its made in the same place. I think you are being a "winer"
to make a euro car to us dot specs require 5 items. the major items is the addition of a "smog" pump. I have a euro car and love it. the body or frame are not changed for the us, just some guages. So all the cars are euro cars, they are just modified before they get to the us. So i don't understand what the bid deal is. if you want a true Ferrari than a "Euro" car is the real deal. The US model is the "none true" Ferrari (modified from Ferrari specs).
I hear what people are saying about the euro cars being very similar, however the market will always discount them. Given the choice of 2 identical cars, the US car will always win in the US market. If you like euros buy one- you'll get a great deal, but will get less when you sell and more hassle. The trade off may be worth it for "some people", with the "some people" being the minority of ferrari buyers. I'm not bashing the euro cars (heck, I had a euro 911 years ago), just stating reality in the marketplace. I personally would not buy a euro unless it had a LARGE discount and I say LARGE because I wouldn't do it for say a 15% discount, it would have to be considerable discount/opportunity, but that is just me and why I paid more than a euro to get a US car. But it's a free market out there.
