I have had nearly no time to drive as the weather has not permitted me. I did 2 fun laps at my local track but wanted to take it easy on the break in. I understand that this engine spent a long time being broken in at the factory but I worry about the drivetrain and the brakes being broken in properly. Driving this car is like no other I have driven before. The Scud is a good car but the 458 seems to have more than one uped the Scud, a new feeling. I have to hand it to Ferrari to come out with not just a large margin of improvement and styling but a new experience. Those of you whom have driven a California understand the Getrag 7sp which is very similar except some gearing changes creates a flawless acceleration that beats anything on the road right now. They are forecasting rain for the next few days but I will update you on my findings as I get more miles down. Here are the options: AFS System Red Brake Carbon Driver zone Front Suspension lift This is great! Shields Electrochromic outside and inside mirrors RadioNav sytem with Bluetooth HiFi System Front and rear Parking sensors 20" Sport rims Racing Seats Red Stitching
That interior is very nice! I love the black/red contrast. Always been my favorite combo. Congrats and enjoy!
Looks great! Very aggressive looking interior! The seats look like they have abs! Seriously though, it looks amazing! _J
The contrast stitching really shows off the seat design not to mention all that nice carbon optioned for the interior. Have not heard anyone else comment on the front suspension lift feature yet. The option was on 'hold' initially? CH
It seems that the newly designed front end itself barely needs a lift as it is not as close to the ground. Of course many people with put Novitec springs to lower it and scrape again.
Thanks. Is there a max speed before the ELEV automatically reverts to normal height or is time activated. Your the first on this feature here and mine was speced the same. Code 90. G
I don't think you should worry about rain. The car came with wipers, so just drive the damn thing and enjoy. Put miles on that baby
Thanks for sharing those pictures, I have looked at it for a good five minutes and still can't get over the quality of Ferrari's craftsmanship. Enjoy it!
I told somebody today that I could not get over the differences. Going from the 430 to the 458 is like going from a train to a plane.........not even in the same class. Z
You're right! I have a 05 Coupe that I used as a daily driver and even drove through car washes with it. I detailed it every so often when it got gummed up with that car wash crap. When I got this car it was like I got the Holy Grail and I'm carrying it carefully so that nothing bad happens to it. You guys in Van have no Choice but to drive in the rain.
I picked up my car and drove it away before they could give me the delivery inspection and intro. The dealer Ferrari of Alberta themselves were just doing the delivery course themselves. I don't even have the manuals yet! I promised to come back this week for my tutorial on operation of the unit. What I found is that you hit the button and it take about 5 seconds to reach its max height and automatically comes down when I accelerate down. I can also manually reduce height to normal by pushing it again. I will play with it tomorrow and let you know. When do you get yours?
Thanks, it will be real useful on the dirt road to my property. Also I am having wheel arches, rockers etc covered in film. Chips come with the territory out West !! Mine should be here within two weeks. It is probably in New Jersey where apparently there were last week 50 458's undergoing final FNA checks before being released to dealers.
Indeed just regular. Also seen at this picture: http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-2010/def/2010-Ferrari-458-Italia-Front-Section-1280x960.jpg
