Is anyone planning to fit skid plates to their 458? Any thoughts on this?

No need for Skid plates. The 458 has a shorter nose and higher stock front end and if you opted for the front suspension riser kit you won't have any issues.
If you plan on lowering i would strongly ask you to reconsider as the car performance characteristics are greatly changed if you mod the suspension.

Lowering the stock suspension 10 to 20 mm will not affect performance at all good or bad. It will look better and should be done as was the case with the 430.

I doubt I'll change mine although I agree it will probably help the look. It's got to affect the performance if it reduces wheel travel, doesn't it?

No, the suspension still travels the same amount under load, regardless if the car is 10mm closer to the ground. Springs don't become stiffer if they are squeezed 10mm.
