Does the 458 have cruise control?
Sat in one the other day but can't recall seeing it.
If not, would you want it?

Probably because we are the only idiots who would actually spend $1,200 for cruise control?

Or the only idiots that would want cruise in a 458, I could understand it in the California though.

Some people will actually take long trips in their 458s on the interstates and not leave them in the garage and a $1200 cruise control may be worth it to them. Boring as all get out, but it is, after all, a car.

The 100 mile drive back from the track is spent with 1 eye always on the speedometer. "I can't drive 55", but the cruise control can.

+1 The worst ticket I got in my Ferrari was coming home from a track weekend.

    1) I was exhausted and wanted to get home
    2) The engine sounds so good
    3) I'd been running at higher speeds with more focused attention for the prior 2 days
    4) See number 2

If I had cruise control, I would have used it. Honestly. It would have saved me about $1000 in legal fees and sitting in a Community College classroom for 8 hours on a Saturday afternoon.

Naaa.... they can't kick you out. They can however make you eat Matzo with PB&J instead of Wonder bread like the other kids.

I am not saying cruise control is not a useful option, but to pay $1,200+ to make your car go in a constant speed is a little much don't you think?

It seems it isn't available in Australia but I would have ordered the cruise control for interstate driving - even at twice the US price (yes, we pay double here.)

come on! it is so difficult to have a 458 going at constant (slow) speed, that must be a complicated system :)

Come on guys. Look at how pretty those little dials are. I am sure the whole set-up costs Ferrari about $100, but they have to make a profit, right? Like Daniel said, one saved ticket and it pays for itself in direct costs and, if you are really unlucky, raised insurance rates.

Driving on the freeway for a few hours is so much easier with cruise. My other cars have it and I use it ALL the time. In the past it seemed if you mention you would like your F car to have cruise, you would get frowned upon. From the responses here, it seems many others also do longer freeway drives and appreciate the benefits.

Faster than the posted speed limit.

The upside was checking out the dregs of society at Community College on a Saturday morning court-mandated traffic school. Did I mention that I was also 'incentivized' to complete 30 hours of community service?
