I have been trying to teach myself how to navigate the system and I think that I figured out something. In a countering move to the ugly Goblin I thought that I should post a birthday picture. Wife Judy on the left in her 70's, ol' fart in the middle, 84, and daughter Lynne on the right, 50. I got it good.

My 52nd birthday was yesterday (Tuesday), actually, but don't have as an attractive photo. :)

Thanks to all. The two ladies in my post are but a miniscule part of the entire family. I have four great boys of mine and three great kids of Judy. One boy, Dean, who is a 1st LT. in the army and deploying to Afghanistan as we speak, two lovely girls, the youngest whom you saw and another who is caring for her youngest daughter who just gave birth to our 5th great grandchild. So, we have 7 kids, 14 grand kids and 4 great grand kids and another one on the way. I'm slow at learning how to transport and download some of the images in various files and formats but I will keep at it until I figure out how to bring up the photo of the entire gang at my 80th party celebration. You guys are way ahead of me in this thing and I have to work a bit harder to operate it but a few scotches and quietness later at night sometimes allows me to discover the wonders of the world. THEN ALL IS FORGOTTEN THE NEXT DAY! When I was 13 or 14 years old all I had was a little radio that I listened to and it was good. Orson Wells and the nite time mysteries were always engaging and then I could twist the knob and watch the lighted yellow dial switch to a station in Cuba where I could listen to Spanish that I had no idea of interpreting. " Habana Cooba", I remember as they signed off. This was in 1939 on the beach of Siesta Key.

Bob, I've said it before and will say it again: you need to write your autobiography! Every airplane nut in the country will want a copy!

I have already written 148K words and covered everything that I could think of from 1929 to the present . A famous author told me that I would have to shorten it to 600K words before anyone would look at it. I will try but time is short. I did so much in my 84 years that it is difficult to water it down. Aviation was the most important part but I tried everything and experienced a lot...the depression when we barely survived on a defunct farm, watching airplanes at the old Hoover Field in Washington, D.C. riding around in old Waco 10's that were spraying water and oil on me, riding in the hopper with the crop dusters, working with the mullet fishermen in Florida , having my own sailboat, rebuilding some antiques and helping to build some homebuilts, doing airshows as a clown and meeting the likes of Art Scholl and Bob Hoover and a lot of others. Spending 48 years at Boeing from the B-50, B-52, KC-97, 707 and all the others going from a flightline mechanic to a wonderful job as a technical designer in PD on the 777. I didn't do anything monumental like Doolittle or the aces of WW2, and even though I was elected to the Wall of Honor at Dulles, I think I sort of stood and watched. Now I'm an artist, a "starving one," but still trying. I just don't know where I can eliminate anything but what ever is set aside, it will still be readable by my successors..
    I'll try.
