    Just filled the car up with gas and as I was leaving the gas station the little gas pump signal comes on so when I got home I made sure the cap was on properly and it was. I restarted the car and as I left the driveway the gas pump light came on again and then my gas level indicator went blank. A minute later the gas pump light goes off and the gas level indicator looks normal. A few minutes later the cycle starts again this time it was followed by a picture of the engine with "engine system failure" notice up on the video screen. Anyone else experience this malfunction?

    Fuel pump and sender needs to be replaced.

    I had this malfunction and ChallengeHauler hit the nail on the head. Take it to dealer and they will make the fix for you, I did mine last week.

    Is this a one time fix or does this occur more than once. My car is a 2010 wirh under 1,000 miles??

    one time fix. Some 2010's got the new equipment installed at factory, some got bad equipment. Ferrari had thought my SN was the good part # but nope. Take it in, they will be expecting you.

    Sure would be nice to have a Ferrari with a warranty. Maybe someday.

    Hate to ask. But do 07 599's have this problem to? Mine's in the shop with major problems and if so, I might as well fix it. It's starting to really aggravate me, this 599.

    happening on the 612s too, just got my 09 fixed. not a big deal. u can drive the car np until u send the car in.

    Oh yeah, the 2007s definitely have this problem. Mine is a 2008 model and it has been replaced 3 times. Only the 3rd time did they replace it with the updated (improved) parts. The previous two times, Ferrari didn't have an updated part, so mine was replaced with the defectively designed new part...

    Thanks for the comments. Do they carry the parts or will they need to order. The car is going into Algar on the 28th, anything else I should ask them to look at?

    If they don't have the part, it will be overnighted from FNA to Algar.

    Just curious as to the level in the tank before you filled up. I had something like this occur on a P-Car after I had driven the car until the tank was almost empty. On that particular car the pump and sender are immersed in the tank and it had to be replaced just as you are being advised here. Since then, I try to avoid allowing fuel level to get too close to E.

    Is there any particular window it happens in, or whenever it feels like throwing the CEL?

    zed996tt - the level was just over a quarter. i had a 997TT just before the Fcar.
