The weather has been a bummer recently, but hopefully it will clear up in time for some nice weekend pacing. Once the skies are clear, I'll be in full support for finding the yellow cavallino a place in the spotters thread, at least before it trots away to a new stable. If you end up having an open seat for cruising, or would simply like some final going away pictures taken, please feel free to let me know. Sounds like it's the same car I saw in a picture that Michael took a while back. I like the white air ducts. http://texasmike.fotki.com/automotive-1/automotive/ferrari/512bbi__bb/100_4869.html
Great times - I haven't had the chance to get out to one in a long time. Hope everyone is doing well back home! I'll probably be back for a week or so at the end of aug than off to Europe till January!
How about an fchat night-out to celebrate your return? We could plan for a nice dinner at a great restaurant, with parking in the front and all accommodations reserved. Or.... We could make a reservation at the local gentlemen's club for any interested fchatters. Wouldn't want your trip back to be too short lived. I'll even plan it, which shouldn't be a problem, because I'll be 18 by then. What do ya say?
I saw a balloon white Lamborghini LP640 Roadster w/ red interior West bound on 1604, heading towards Blanco today. I love that color combo! That car looks more like a spaceship than anything else, even when out on the open road. Also saw a red F430 Spider w/ ball polished star wheels, challenge grille, and yellow calipers on Wednesday. It's the first time I've seen that one, and it looked quite nice. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Saw a brand new Porsche Panamera in blue pulling with a Carrera S rag top over by the airport on 410 weaving through some thick traffic at about 110.
Bright red Lamborghini Diablo off 1604 near NW Military w/ a wing. I only glimpsed it cruising on by, but judging from my limited side view, I'd say it was either a 1994 SE30 or 1997-1999 VT. I could be completely wrong on that thought, but one thing's for certain; that V12 sure hums nicely off into the distance. Also a couple of younger looking guys rolling in a red F430 Spider on Blanco at 1604. The plate digits seemed unfamiliar to me, I'm not sure that I've seen this one before either. 2010/11 Porsche GT3 (997 MKII) in the Stone Oak area. It was all white, w/ red calipers and standard gray wheels. That's the first new model GT3 I've seen as well. I thought that the new details, such as the subtly redesigned rear, wing, and wheels looked especially stunning.
Be extra careful while cruising down around 1604 near Hollywood Park, and 281 as well. I was behind this Camaro in traffic, and had no idea it was a squad car. It's an undercover Camaro, with black wheels and a silver lip. It had decals on the sides that said "San Antonio Police", but the decals were blended in so well with the paint color, that you'd have to be at at 20 degree angle towards the side of it or better to be able to see that lettering. Aside from that nearly non existent police lettering, the only way to really tell that it's a squad car is from the lack of "SS" or "RS" decals on the rear or front grille. Even the license plates are regular, new plates. There are no "exempt" markings or anything else. He was in front of me, and nailed someone for what I assume was failing to use a blinker and presumably a speed violation. I was surprised to see him light it up, as I had heard about the silver one's but didn't know they had black cars too. http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/local_news/police_combat_speeding_with_stealth_95125114.html They're getting sneakier guys. I see the use of such cars in these times as nothing other than a method of easier revenue enhancement from traffic violators. Most don't expect regular looking Camaros, Tahoes, Malibus, etc, in regular paint schemes to be squad cars. They are out to get everyone, more so than ever now. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Don't forget about the white F-250 Super Duty with silver decals that's out there as well. I didn't check out the article linked, but at least once a week for the past month there has been a speed trap set between callaghan and 281 along 410. Also a motorcycle cop has been playing out of the foliage on the 281 access road before bitters On topic, Red 430 on 410 west near vance jackson and a white Porsche GT3 near 281 and Bitters.
Tuesday- Viper Blue ACR at a restaurant off 1604 and Blanco. Wednesday- Two pearl white on tan Maserati Quattroporte S' at the gym. One had aftermarket wheels. Thursday- TDF Blu on Crema Ferrari 360 Spider on Huebner at Blanco. Friday- Heritage Edition (Gulf Oil Racing Livery) Ford GT at the gym.
