Ha, a LONG time ago I was there with a friend of mine. I think we were around 10 years old and stupid. It was the day we were packing to come back home and we decided to fish for seagulls. LOL Well we were casting up high to where they were flying past and my friend took a step back and didn't realize where he was on the dock. Well, he fell off into the water. I almost pissed myself laughing so hard. The fishing pole went off into the water and he was soaked, everything was already packed so our parents were pissed. Good story. Nice picture.
My family has 2 rental houses there. It's a nice place to fish & just relax. Some of the best bird watching in the country also.
What kind of birds? I have a hard time identifying them, but took a dozen or so different pics of them today. Everything from heron, mallard, blue jay, robin, goose, cardinal, swallow, etc, in the same park, LOL! The rest I had no idea what they were. Took this pic today of dragonflies mating: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FileragonflyMating_Maryland.JPG
Crappy cell phone pics . Taken in Clinton County , IN , in between Indy & Chicago . These things kinda creep me out a little, just how huge they are . I actually had one of the semis with a "propeller" pass me on the highway today so you can get an idea how large the "propellers" are. At night, they all have red lights on top of them that flash in unison, thats all you can see when you drive through there , as far as the eyes can see. Not sure what caught my eye about the fish but I felt it needed to have it's picture taken Image Unavailable, Please Login
Heck, I really couldn't tell you man. I have a hard time identifying them myself. I don't even know what kind of bird that is that I just posted photos of. My mom knows about all that stuff. We have charts at the house that help to identify all the different birds in the area but I certainly couldn't tell you off the top of my head. I just know that we rent the houses to LOTS of birdwatchers. They don't fish... all they do is watch birds. BTW, nice shot!
A couple I took over the last few days, including a couple of a snake I just found clinging to the side of my house. Any idea as to what sort of snake it is? EDIT: So it appears tht our little friend is a very brightly colored Eastern Garter Snake. Cool! Shiny Side Up! From last night! I'm almost certain the Lincoln Memorial is slightly misaligned from the Washington Monument where I took the pic. I was facing directly west based on the markings on the ground at the monument...you can't see Abe's left hand or the north side (right of pic) columns. They all align behind the farthest right, but the southside ones do not. Also took some good pics of the White House at night. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:LincolnMemorialFromWashingtonMonument.JPG http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:WhiteHousenightphoto.JPG

Hope Diamond! With lights off: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:HopeDiamondwithoutLighting.JPG With lights on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:HopeDiamondwithLighting2.JPG http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:HopeDiamondwithLighting.JPG I prefer the last one to the second to last one since it is a sharper image (ISO200 vs 400). Unfortunately, the lighting was even at the time for the one I don't like as much. I updated the wiki page with the one I don't like since the color shows it off better...
We get them here as well. These are coming from Vestas. The wing factory is around 20 miles from here. I find some other pics *LOL* Soon we are going to erect 6 test windturbines. They will be 250 meter tall each. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not a great pic, but the scene is outside my summer cabin here in Canada...one of the reasons I love the place....just wifey, me, and nature. The property has always been called Deercross, but after this visitor walked up to our shoreline while we watched from our campfire, I think we may be in for a name change to Moosecross.
