    That was the car that started it for me. I was fortunate enough to know the owner when it was in Illinois and this was the first Ferrari I rode in. Once I heard that engine at full song it was game, set and match....I was hooked.

    Forgot if I asked this before. I saw the car around 1970 tooling down Sunset strip when piloted by the blonde movie star/pro tennis player who was the son of crooner Dean Martin. It was yellow. Motor Trend did a story on it.I was never sure if it was a real P3/4 or some other Ferrari rebodied with a P3/4 body. I don't think the Motor Trend writer knew enough about Ferraris at that time to tell the differance. Also I read an ad one time about a flipped car for sale out in Malibu that had a P3/4 body on top of a Mangusta chassis (the original flexi-flyer) so it could have been that car, or the Tom Meade's Thomassina II which I gather looked a lot like a P3/4. (on one website it says the chassis was a widened Cooper chassis with a 250 engine)

    I saw Paul Moyer (KNBC anchor for those not in L.A.) driving a black 430 on the 405. Apparently he has a few F-cars. Not sure if he had to get rid of any since he recently became unemployed.

    Sammy Hagar is a car nut and he's had a nearly 30-year love affair with the Prancing Horse. Currently, his Ferrari collection consists of:

    1983 512 Boxer
    1984 400i
    1997 456 GT
    2010 599 GTB Fiorano Custom

    While Hagar bought his "awesome" ride (1983 512) new from the factory, it's since racked up 56,000 miles. "The seats wore out from my getting in and out of it. If Enzo Ferrari saw that car, he'd look at that seat and say, 'My friend, that's what the Ferrari is made for,'" Hagar says with a faux Italian accent. "I would never have it completely redone. I'd leave that seat with the holes in it because it's cool. The rubber on the pedals - on the brake -- kind of wore out. It's great. I love it."

    He had the 599 down to Speed Week last year. Awesome car.

    Hayden Christensen of Star Wars fame is shown in R & T or MT, can't remember with tickes he obtained during a Gumball Rally type cross country run.

    He is shown in front of a silver 360 that the magazine erroneously listed as a 355, which was pointed out by a reader and listed in the 'corrections' section in a subsequent issue.

    Christensen could probably retire from his Star Wars roles and never hit-a-lick at anything again. Not a talented actor as much as the teen hearthrob type. Gotta give him credit for realizing early about F-cars though.

    I wonder if those Hollywood guys learn that as status items from other stars or if they have genuine enthusiasm. I lean towards the forner.
