Okay Andreas, would you be a Schumi hater if he was still with Ferrari and had Alonso as his teamate?

Good one, hmm. Have to really think about that. I'd be rooting for Alonso, but would I want MS to fail in that situation? Probably not. Really hard to say.

Red Bull's are sickly fast and its going to be a snoozer unless those two have another coming together. Alonso has a pretty decent shot at a podium.

Button always struggles at this track and Hamilton is 4th, bad day for the Brit's at home considering aspirations coming into the weekend.

Speed on Friday said that Schumi wants to give up on this years car and Rosberg wants to continue development on this years car. So something tells me MS isn't going 110%, but Rosberg still is? Just a possibility. It's hard to get a grip on whats going on with MS. He has moments where he is pretty fast, and then moments like today where he ended up 10th...interesting.

Speed also said on Friday that Mercedes GP struggles with low fuel and soft tires. But Rosberg seems to do alright...So I don't know...

I haven't hard much talk about the Renault engine as part of the Red Bull success. Seems everyone gives Newey all the credit.

It's really too bad Schu choked in Q3. Q2 looked very promising and he easily had another .5 second in him. He should have been 4th or 5th. Let it be a lesson in choking I guess.

What's the over/under on which lap Vettel's nose will fall off?

Oh, I'm relieved to hear that. So it's nothing about him being too old or anything. He just choked. So in the race he'll be able to pull that .5 second advantage per lap out and start passing cars. Looking forward to that.

Weber looked like he was about to explode sitting next to Vettel as he talked endlessly in the post conference --and Alonso looked like he was day dreaming.

Anybody notice that Webber didn't put his steering wheel back on when he got out to go weigh in? I'm assuming he must have came back and put it on, but they went to commercial as he was walking into the garage.

Yes it must be pretty hard to stomach watching another team with your engine blast off into the distance with it, but thats whats great about F1 IMO.

    With the wrong result.

Kinda like Monaco GP, but luckily there we have the FIA which fixes things in the aftermath. :)

Hopefully the final will be at least as good!

Not sure how classy it is to make trouble in someone else's team.
    Were these comments needed?

    LOL Yes the FIA!!

Er however I think some touch line/goal line tech is desperately needed in football, some really bad calls I have seen, England goal that wasn't for one... but I would say that..:)

Not exactly the aspect I was thinking of but yes.
I'm thinking that the Renault engine is rather better than is being acknowledged.

I hear you, but the journo' obviously asked, and he gave his feelings - Nothing outrageous in his comments IMO.

Just more grist for the mill.....

    Wandering far off topic.....

I dunno Steve - Yep, something's gotta happen, and I'm in favor of the "virtual goal line + electronic ball" for the *rare* occasions there's a question.

However, it seems to me that many of the screw ups could have been solved by allowing the 4th (or 5th, whatever) official to *talk* to the ref - If he sees something like the England (no) goal, he can correct it.

However, that and technology wouldn't fix the US's disallowed goal for example - "Just part of the game" (unfortunately)

    Cheers,
    Ian
