Yes I know, Renault has made a great engine, IIRC it is down on HP but is very light.

Still it does show what can be done with it in the right hands, however full marks to Renault and Redbull for that, you could say its a win win for Renault, so buy the missues one.. you get a red beast..:)

The report then becomes "Boring Mclaren", "Whitmarsh is a corporate drone", etc etc.....

Alas indeed. OTOH, when was it the Ferrari guy got locked in Tyrells transporter? Hardly gentlemanly even back then..... ;)

Bas, the car has problems it has gone backwards in development 20 new parts I think 6 have been used they had to take them all off in the early hours, Ham did really well getting his car in 4th..IMO.

And if you watched Qualiflying, the Mclaren car driving over those bumps it looked awfull, a trip to the chiropractors after the race I reckon.

Besides you picked Ham I got Button in Jacks pool..

Webber and the rest of the world have finally realised the favourism at RedBull.
Webber if supported evenly would still be leading the wdc.
    Webber > Vettel

I respectfully beg to differ. As I said above, if Marks front end had fallen off, he'd have got the replacement. It's not exactly as if there's any significant difference between the two anyway. A big non story.

They're over 0.8 seconds quicker than the rest - *That's* the story IMO!

    Cheers,
    Ian

Is Renault bagging poles left right and centre? Nope, sure it's a good engine...but renault isn't churning out the results like red bull is...

Possibly payback for Webbers comments stating that things weren't as rosy within McLaren between Lewis and Jenson?

F1. The race to the bottom.
I expect better from Woking, Silly me.
Ron does his best to run a professional looking team and when they have one bad Q things get petty.

Vettel had a failure, he got the replacement.

Webber is whining. He isn't leading the WDC because he does not have Vettels level of talent. Vettel had multiple situations that were entirely out of his control that cost him points... not the same with Webber.

Vettel ought to be farther ahead of Webber than he is.

He, just like all the other drivers, proved he could shave .5 from Q1 to Q2 and then lost it in Q3. You can't say the guy doesn't have it in him, he just had a consistency issue. Don't tell me your precious drivers have never had consistency issues as they all have and you very well know it. Don't make me go over the last couple seasons for certain world champion drivers with crappy cars :) No need to be a hater.

Ya know I am glad I am not the only one who sees this. Webber has been a really so so driver his entire career and just happened to be very fortunate this year in landing in a really stellar car. Vettel is the real deal and has the hunger like Hamilton and Alonso. Top tier racing with these fellows.

I don't think you could ever question Webber's hunger. Raw talent: perhaps. Hunger: No.

There were plenty of replacements but they took the good one off Marks car to give to Vettel. That is favouritism, they could have given Vettel the other front wings.
Yes Mark gets bad red mist ... but this is the third time at least ... not fair.

He lost out on 15 points in Bahrain because of a mechanical problem, and he lost out on 25 points in Australia when he retired with a brake failure.

Webber, on the other hand, screwed his race in Australia by crashing into Hamilton, and his most recent crash into Heikki was at least as much his fault as Heikkis.

Apparently. In the real world, Vettel is down 40 points through no fault of his own. Webber's points losses have generally been his fault, at least partially, and sometimes wholly.

And despite Webber not suffering from mechanical issues as Vettel has, Vettel still leads him by 12 points. You can believe that Webber would be leading if Vettel wasn't favored, or you can see reality - Vettel's just much better. :)

From what Red Bull says, the new front wing was a new design they were testing out. Vettel was doing well with it, Webber showed little difference. So when they had a mechanical problem with the wing they gave the one replacement to Vettel, who is the only one who needed a front wing and is the one who was better with it.

If I was the team manager, I'd have done the same. If you were, you would have done the same as well. The only person who wouldn't have done the same would be someone who was biased towards Webber at the expense of Vettel. It would be one thing if Seb crashed - but he didn't, the wing was faulty. So they had to use their spare judiciously. They played the numbers as any rational person would.

To think the wing was somehow owned by Webber and Seb had no right to it would be to think that Vettels tub is owned by Vettel and Webber had no right to it either. But it doesn't work that way... it's all owned by the team, and they do what's best for the team.

As they did this weekend. End of story.
