Ruining his own race from 3rd is bad enough, putting his own teammate out of the points in the process is unforgivable.

Too bad Santander didn't want Hamilton in red, instead of El Gloomio...

He'd sure bring the points but personally I can't see the boyscout ever driving for Ferrari.

    I agree.

Not to sound rude but looking at the performance this year and how things have fallen apart for Ferrari since Domenicali came, I am not sure that many drivers would choose Ferrari first.

If I was a driver, I would want to be in a Red Bull or a McLaren. I wouldn't mind being in a Renault either. Ferrari just seem to be disorganized and disoriented. I certainly can't see Hamilton going there unless things went south at McLaren and Ferrari seriously picked up their game.

Save a very few exceptional years Ferrari has a tradition of disorganization that has served it well ;)

Yup. As I said in the Race thread, Ferrari are spending to much time trying to make an all italian/latino team again, which is a stupid decision in the first place because they're all lazy, and to little time spending making the team get positive results.

The problems at Ferrari deal more with how the team is ran than the driver who is giving it his all behind the wheel.

Totally agree. Actually Massa really is having a worse year than Alonso. Given that they stopped development last year to concentrate on this year's car only to be chasing behind both Red Bull and McLaren is now a bit embarrassing.

I don't think anyone in that seat could do any better.

    lol! :)

I agree the problem isn't necessarily the drivers, but rather the current team leadership.

that said, I wouldn't mind seeing Vettel and Kubica at the Scuderia....

I have. Alonso isn't the only driver on the grid to screw up this year. Do they all need to be replaced as well? When you don't have an amazing car the screw-ups can't be masked nearly as well.

If you want better results then you clean house going from the top and on down. Alonso is just the driver (and a driver who is STILL in 5th place in the standings despite the past two frustrating races mind you). If Alonso wasn't delivering period then I could understand the frustrating, but he has delivered both race results and a win this season. Because of that the car and management are things that need to be looked at first.

    Really?

Because of internal friction, inefficiency and disorganization, Ferrari lost several world championships.

Surtees missed his second WDC because of internal quarrels; he left.

Chris Amon had his career ruined at Ferrari and also left in disgust.
Without support as he was close to take the crown, the promising Jacky Ickx did the same.
Clay Reggazoni failed to clinch a WDC because of disorganisation.

Lauda left the Scuderia, tired of internal politics.
Schekter couldn't repeat his previous championship and retired instead.

Mansell and Prost also left, unable to deal with the constant in-fighting. Both went on the take WDC with another team.

In recent years, only Schumacher under the triumvirat Todt- Brawn-Byrne had any success at Ferrari.

after the success of button last year and the current success of webber this year, it looks like the guys with the fastest chassis are now winning.

button and webber had/has done nothing prior to this year and last year.

I don't think that the McLarens were the class of the field today. Their results today are down to racing luck and driver skill.
Webber on the other hand should be sending Adrian Newey flowers and chocolates.

Excuse me? Webber has stepped up his game against Vettel tremendously this year. Qualifying performance alone makes that very clear. Prior to last year Webber had quite good performances considering the rolling turds he was given (and his teammates never performed better than him).

Well it was LdM who wanted nationalistic 'Italian Team' pulling the strings for his F1 effort. That foreign triumvirate has departed. The results since then speak for themselves...

I think Alonso is incredibly talented and should be retained. It seems to me that Ferrari is qualifying okay, but when the fuel load is added it seems to be changing the aero and slowing the car in comparison to the field.

When you limit yourself to your own countrymen, your own race, or your own sex,

    you limit yourself... period...

IMHO, This was one of Todt's great strengths, when he ran the show he got the best talent available, regardless of nationality...

I took this from another thread but I thought it should go here.

FA went 4 wheels off the track and passed a car. The sporting regs say that if you go 4 wheels off you must not gain an advantage. How could Ferrari think they would get away with it? They failed as a team. They should have immediately ordered FA to swap positions with RK, when they failed to do that they guaranteed this result.

Why do so many people here seem to not understand this very basic rule?
