How is the F40 'supply' these days? You were looking for F40 models a while ago to keep up with demand.

I remember that article. THe F40 was the car that had sped up the journalists heart ratet the most.

Correct, it was for Road & Track and these images are outtakes not used in the piece. That's editor Patrick Hong behind the wheel at a point in time when the car was owned by Anthony A. Front splitter removed.

With the recent passing away on this event of a well-known driver in his Porsche 996TT, a review of this video shows how little margin for error there is on this event...

The original Virginia City Hill Climb was founded in 1972 and ran through 2002. Rosenbaum holds the all time record for the event, running the course in three minutes, ten seconds in a modified Ferrari F40.

With an average speed of 101mph. That particular F40, I believe is on its second engine, at least. It sure was a fun car to ride in, though. This is the same F40 that was modified for an in class land speed record, which it did not achieve, sadly.

Can you imagine riding in the passenger seat on that run?

what a great vid. Driving that is one thing, but being a passenger would be terrifying for me. It would be like a roller coaster times a million.

Amir, (the driver) is a very good driver with a good deal of experience at the VC hill climb. I have been up that hill countless times at speed in different Ferrari's since I was in 8th grade. I have gone to the hill climb since age 9. I can tell that particular run in that car has stuck with me for many years. However my run in that F40 was done with his driving instructor David. David has a well known green 355 spider with yellow wheels. He also has 550M which he has impressed upon me the handling capabilities of a big front engine GT Ferrari. My run was honestly not really "scary" just very impressive. The F40 is a tremendously capable car in the right hands with the right preparation. The F40 in the video is very much not stock.

Even an Eagle would have trouble reading that (presumably illegal) front number plate!

Quite legal, its similar to the small resident's pass plate issued for Pebble Beach's Del Monte Forest area. They are typically attached to the front of residents' cars to allow them free access into Pebble Beach's 17-mile drive.

Im not sure what area of the country the one on this F40 is from, but I have seen another F40 that lives in the Del Monte Forest with something similar to this affixed upon the front grille.

The Vancouver dealer's display by Marcel Lech.

F40 clearly the most aggressive-looking Ferrari Supercar.

Dont you wish the front ends of the cars with lift-kits would be lowered when parked? A minor detail but they look rather funny in 'motor-boating' stance.
