A few months ago, in their May issue, Classic Motorsports magazine ran a cover story about a guy in California who restored a 246 GT. Much was made of the fact that he returned the car to its original Verde Germoglio color, and the article speculated that it was likely the only one of that color in the US. Because I had heard about the story, I picked up a copy at the local B&N and ended up subscribing as I liked the magazine. I then sent an email to the editor to tell them about my car and attached a recent photo. Imagine my surprise when I got my new issue in the mail on Saturday and opened it to page 15...

I appreciate the counsel, but here is the deal with the car. I am nearly 58 years old and have recently started racing and tracking again after a nearly 30 year hiatus. I want to have a sports car that I can take to the track, and also use for long-distance touring. The Dino is a wonderful car, but it is certainly not one for either of these pursuits.

In a perfect world, where I had an unlimited budget and sufficient garage space, I would keep the Dino and buy a second sports car. Unfortunately I have neither. It's time to close one chapter and begin another.

What are you thinking of getting for the track/tour?

    Good choice.

I noticed Porsche finally put the engine in the correct spot.

I have a non-S Cayman, though I don't track it. You'll love it, Dan! Fred
