Silly talk by Alonso. Unless an Atomic bomb hits the Red Bull garage AND the McLaren garage, he has no chance in hell. Equally funny was MS' official statement last week, that for him the WDC this year is out of reach. Oh yeah? What made you think that Michael?
Lol, have to agree with you on both points. I thought the same thing when Schu said that. But - in both cases - that's a Championship mentality - never give up!
yeah, sorry fernando, but unless the stewards start treating Ferrari fairly, we have no chance. Ask the garage to put a silver wrap on the car in the pit lane and you will win every race of course
Fernando has no chance. The car isn't fast enough. The team isn't sharp enough. He isn't cool enough. They are outclassed by Red Bull and McLaren in every way so far. Unless Ferrari made a HUGE leap forward - like, as much faster than Red Bull as Red Bull is over Ferrari at the moment - which will never happen. Or, as Andreas said - if a bomb hit the pit lane and took out Red Bull, McLaren and Vettel and Hamilton, then maybe he has a slight chance... but that's about his only chance.
Agree, except you missed out Webber and Button ... and being cool has nothing to with being a WDC. If it was MS would never have won one, cause he is most definitely one of the most nerdy drivers to ever have won a race. MS is completely making a fool of himself ... so sad to witness . Pete
Even the German newspapers are now starting to see it that way: He is dismantling his own legacy. In fact he is setting new personal records: - Valencia was his ever worst finish in a race (not counting DNFs) - Also his worst ever qualifying
Even a thread that has nothing to do with MS, you still have to make a stupid comment about him...annoying. FA, you have no chance because your not in a Red Bull or Mclaren. Alex
Alonso will probably win a few races this year. After all, he is the most aggressive driver out there and can easily move through the pack. The season is about halfway, and there can be a lot done in this time. Silverstone might have been his win, but a bad luck launch prevented a good position, and the few incidents in traffic caused pain to he and his teammate during one such tire shredding incident. As for his pass off track, clearly he was avoiding an incident which would have been Kubica's fault. Alonso has proven he can move through the pack, and he is no stranger to the podium. As for Ferrari cars, they get quicker than the Red Bulls when the fuel empties out. He has 100% confidence. Whether or not he will win the title, he certainly has aggression and a desire to win. I like his confidence. Ferrari in P1 means you'll most likely see him win that race. Webber isn't good in traffic, but great as a frontrunner. Red Bull Renault cars are fast, but slower than Ferraris when the fuel runs low.
You're annoyed about a little post by me? Really? And it has nothing to do with the fact that your idol just got taken to the cleaners again. Little Rosberg took home a podium while Mr. 7 times ace was duking it out with wannabee Hulkenberg in the lousy Williams. After getting schooled by Vettel and others. Lets face it: My posts would be water off the back of a duck if MS would actually performing the way his fans expected him this season.
I think Alonso should concentrate on winning a race first before claiming he can win the championship. SRT Mike is dead on. I doubt he says similar statements "off camera". It's a PR stunt for the boss and sponsors.
Uhhh... No. Do you think Red Bull is qualifying on extra fuel to be Faster??? When you are 30 seconds ahead, with 10 laps to go, you slow down 1 sec per lap to preserve the car. The Red Bulls are coasting.
I could be wrong but I think Mike means cool under pressure and that is paramount to becoming a WDC. I don't think he meant FONZIE cool.
Alonso has a strategy to win the title. Vettel and Webber will take each other out in every race and Hamilton will be so close behind, the CF shreds coming from the Red Bull "wiings" will cut his tires. Sounds like a winning plan!
Webber and Button have no chance to win unless their significantly more talented teammates suffer massive bad luck or season-ending injuries. Thus far, Vettel has seen a lot of bad luck which has artificially put Webber ahead. But either the two of them will implode and hand the title to Hamilton, and if not, Vettel will pull ahead. I don't think Schumi is making a fool of himself. It does seem he is way off his game. He doesn't seem to be able to come to grips (pun intended!) with the new car and rules. I'm not willing to write him off yet. He is the best driver in the history of F1 and I am certainly willing to give him through to next year to get things together. Rosberg is also a very good driver - he's no Webber or Trulli or Kovalainen - he's got a lot of speed and would be a challenge for anyone, IMO even Vettel or Hamilton.
yawn. someone says that every year about a team, this year it happens to be Ferrari. Andreas - consider the source - a non-subscriber with 33 posts. THAT is annoying. BTW - I am a 'fan' of MS - and most drivers - but I honestly did not expect much of him this year, I thought 2-3 top-3's were the most I expected, but no wins.
Honestly his performance this season seems to bother you more than anyone. Why the hostility? I got to sit in the stands with my Dad and see him in person again; he received cheers louder than your unibrow-whining friend in red. (Please note a 6 page thread wanting Alonso GONE) The Kaiser may never win another race - no big deal. (but he probably will). I give him credit for coming back in the first place; why can't you? Kevin
BTW - even without Schu near the top; I'm enjoying this season alot more than I thought I would after Bahrain............ Kevin
