just spoke to someone in the know about 430 fuel pump. -understand its a recall item so better get it checked n replaced (for free?)
well, fchat global monthly top posters results out n again we hv two notable singapore absentees from the list- seems like there's too much at steak!
That's true. Ferrari, like any other manufacturers have "update campaigns" or recalls to replace hardware & software. Our problem now is that there has been a change in dealership plus the influx of PI cars, it'll be a tough job for Italauto to monitor the population here & subsequent issues if cars missed a service campaign. Long ago when I was looking @ 360, pre-02 or 3 models had an update campaign to replace some valves issue or something pretty major which I found in Fchat. Ben, the workshop manager then assured me that all cars sold by them had the issue fixed as long as we have the VIN no. to trace. Let's hope that the PI cars will have issues if any, properly addressed.
speaking of ital, i was told they are doing a promotion for timing belt change, offering 50% off the parts for the belt package. have ordered n will do it soon as mine is due i think. can always order first n do when needed i feel, no shelf life right?
didn't hear abt that.. hahah any terms and conditions where u can order and keep the parts first lol. when is the next fchat drive?
I'll post some. Belongs to a friend of mine who rents these cars out... I actually sent pics of the car to Derek on the day I saw it...
the pics I saw of it looked really nice! Leang if you know the ballpark price can you send me a PM? all this talk of hot exhausts must have cursed me .. went over a plastic bag the other day .. saw the next day that it had attached itself to my tailpipe and melted/hardened to such a degree that I can remove it all
yeh the full kit is maybe a little over the top for me .. but I cud be tempted with a slightly toned down version
Sounds like a good deal if it's the whole package. Timing belts are actually very cheap items & the bearings are usually SKF but could be specific rating for manufacturers. There are some guys who claim that they make better bearings than Ferrari supplied. Your package should include the cam cover seals & some other bits. U guys will also need to look into waterpumps rebuild for higher mileage/older cars. Other than the belts, I think most of them can be kept for 3-5years. I would be more concern about manufacture date than delivery date as warehouse could be clearing old stocks! U didn't hear this from me!
Luxe Rental? Heard they were Russian owners. Easily 5 figures excluding the wheels. The lambo kits were $30K+ You can use petrol/diesel to clean that off, they are very good solvents.
Can Alcohol Swab help? I got plenty of it. Maybe i can pass one box to you when i near your place, if not i pass to Kathy
im sure theyll be more than happy to store for you first- anyway i dont think the kit takes up too much space
