Yes, this car seems to be very interesting in my mind, too.

 

Call them and ask about it. Ive been to this place before and it has a great reputaion. They also have one of Michael Schumachers F1 mechanics and designer of some of the parts on the 360 and 430 working there. Daniel at Recambi knows them well. Here is their # 1-905-264-9982

 

It's very similar to my old Dino. Mine was a '70 and had about 300 less on the VIN. Mine also had knock off wheels using a spanner. Same color inside and out.

It's a euro model which I prefer. The USA models had different (non flush) front turn signals, ugly side markers and did not have amber rear turn signal lights. And, euro models had a little more power and less emissions stuff.

The interior is original and a bit worn.

Owning one is interesting. Remember it's not much in creature comfort but it makes up for it in personality. You only have 180HP or so but the Dino engine is like nothing on earth. What it lacks in power it makes up in emotion. And, you can drive it with gusto and not break every speed limit in the books.

To me, this looks like a really fine car. I can't tell you if the price makes sense though.

If it were my car, I'd pull that Ferrari logo off the back. It's the only tacky thing I can see on a rather unmolested car.

It's good the trans is rebuilt. I rebuilt mine and it made a world of difference. Replacing 2nd gear synchro allows you to shift when cold without going 1st to 3rd. Still, I would double clutch to save the synchros.

If it has good records, it's definately in the minority for Dino's.

Just remember it's an old car with no A/C or anything else like it. The interior can get rather warm from heat entering from the radiator upfront. The seating position is a bit laid back and the seats have no side support. If you're a tall guy, it's going to be tiny and short of headroom. It's old school all the way. A bit crude by today's car standards but wonderful in it's own way. It reminded me of all cars built in the 60's.

You will need a good mechanic who is familar with it. They don't break a lot but the car will really work poorly if the carbs aren't set up properly. Not many know much about Weber tuning now adays.

several months away, but you would have a say in the rest of the work as it progresses which is a rare thing.

I looked at the add for this car, it looks like an excellent find and I aalmost believe the milage though most lie about it. The price is very realistic also

Daytona is a reputable firm and they have a relationship with Ricambi. I have ordered parts from them and they have been very reliable.

Looks like a nice Dino and apparently in those days Canada did not use the US standards for cars so it would be Euro spec all the way. Have to look up when they adopted our DOT and EPA standards.

correct, my #01100, Canadian delivery, has instruments with English labeling and a miles speedometer, everything else is European specification...

I wonder if the Ferrari badge is on 2 posts that have been drilled into the car or a flat badge fixed on the car with adhesive? Anyone know?

It's a very clean and original-looking example. One odd thing I noticed, though, is the placement of the radio antenna, inboard of the roof buttress. Normally, it would be positioned to the outside of the buttress, on the rear fender. Nonetheless, it bears further examination. It looks like it would make someone a very happy Dino owner! Fred

Sharp eyes, Fred! You are right, the antenna is mounted a bit further inboard compared to the usual location. Looks a bit strange. All the more reason to take it out and fill the hole, at the same time the holes for the Ferrari badge are filled...

Other than that, the car looks good. The interior looks original and unmolested, even though it may need some work. All that is reflected in the price, though, which sounds quite reasonable. Definitely worth a closer look.

 

Hello Lars, I´ve seen a few Canadian Dinos with this strange antenna position....
I think the Canadian importer fitted the antenna always in that position when they instalted the radio themselves.
