As many of you know GMP will be releasing a 512 S spider in October. From what the press release says, there will be more coming. I know the car they used was a belinetta, and the prototype shown was one too. So I assume that will be in the pipeline after. Also I heard a 512 M might as well be coming, including a Sunoco one.

    My questions are:

1- Has anybody heard when the first berlinetta will be released, and what car it will be?
2- Has anybody heard if they will make a plain red one? This is what I really want.

Here is one of the press releases and some shots of the prototype from the toy show a few months back.

    It looks AWESOME.

I just received an email (at night, great service!) from GMP.

They said they ARE making a berlinetta that will be released a few months (April-ish) after the spider (October). Also, they will be making plain red versions of both that will be released after that.

So it looks like I have to wait about a year for a plain red belinetta. Oh well, it will be worth it.

I hope that GMP also does the Coda Lunga version!

I agree, I would rather that then an M. IMO the S looks better then the M anyway....

I read a rumor on another board that they might even make the "F", which was a basically a nick-name for a special one-off M made by one team.

    Just heard from GMP.

The basic breakdown of the first four 512 S releases are the following:
    1- Spider (race trim, October)
    2- Berlinetta (race trim, April-ish)
3- Spider (plain red, May/June-ish, good chance of being earlier though)
    4- Berlinetta (plain red, May/June-ish)

    Plus more after that!

That's cool, I've never seen pics of the car with that. Guess he usually runs the regular rear cover.

Me neither. But I'm guessing he's not likely to run it at Lime Rock Park!;)

Yup, at LRP the extra downforce of the regular rear cover would be the better choice! Even with that it will hit 211+ mph. Which isn't gonna happen at the tight LRP LOL....

Wow, great shots thanks for sharing!

Amazing how they had three pretty different tail sections for the car.
I like the regular belinetta one best, then the coda lunga, then the spiders.

    Good Morning All,

I have been browsing high and low on the internet for the GMP Ferrari 512 model. My father owns and races the Ferrari 512 that was used for the measurements and videos. A few years ago, GMP guys came to the garage and extensively measured and photographed every square inch of the vehicle and vanished...

Since then, we have not gotten any word of the production of the prototype model they put together at least a year ago! You would think, that since they used our car as the model, we would have heard something!

My question to any of you is: have you heard anything? Know where to buy it, etc? Fathers day is around the corner and this would be a great surprise!

    Thanks in advance,

    John Giordano

:( Unfortunately, GMP is no longer around and I heard through the "grape vine" before GMP went out of business over a year ago that they were looking for a buyer for the finished mock up model of the 512S but with no luck in doing so. I was hoping that CMC would have purchased the 512S project, since they made some very detailed Ferraris in the past. So basically, this model will never be made for us collectors.

I bought the Hot Wheels version of the Sebring winner. While not detailed like the GMP version would have been, it looks the part and was good value for the money.

But I wish someone would also do a Le Mans "Coda Lunga" version.

I have seen your 512 in both short-tail and long-tail configuration, and it is a breathtaking machine. Thanks for continuing to run it!
