Not familiar with this car, but if anyone is interested in a really nice 348CH, the Grigio Ferro one in FL that appeared in the classified ads in the last FCA Monthly Bulletin was always very sharp-looking and strong-running on the occasions when I saw it not too long go. No affiliation with the seller, who seemed like a nice guy when we chatted back then. Price is high, but I suspect that it'd cost WAY too much to bring one of the ratty examples up to that standard- very few good early Challenge cars left.

    Ex-FoW, Ex-Nygmatech...

Well known who the owner was. Don't know history since, though.

I know it somewhat! I own it , as well as way too many other toy's (look at other stuff on ebay right now) 5 Harley's 3 racecars among other stuff and need to thin the herd! Really hope the ARCA speedway cars goes and funds what this need's to be a great vintage racer , and NO I could care less about concour's stuff , more a driver than a waxer. But , if anyone does have history I'd certianly love to hear about it . I got some from Dave Helms as the car was in his shop for a while and share's the same computer setup as his WSC , nothing like the factory deal. Just decided to put a few things up on there while I'm out of town on the ride of my life and see just what offer's come in .

Come on guys! Why clam up now that you know the owner KNOW's you are dissing it? I'm open minded , and REALLY open to sugesstions on returning this car to a fully functional TRACK car , Haltech computers better? feel free to share your vast knowledge , IF you have it , now if you are a waxer that preffer's to view down on working stiff's that happen to own a Ferrari while your nose is firmly stuck u in the air , I realizes you probably just own your whatever car as a penis extention rather than a true car guy. BE CONSTRUCTIVE! It does not take a large mind to put other's down , But truely knowledgable person would share good thought's not bull****!

Not much to discuss. The 348 market is super soft right now. As you know, you can ask anything you want to, but I doubt it sells for anywhere near that. Never know though, there’s an ass for every seat and a seat for every ass.

I bought my 1994 Challenge car in running condition with fresh services and a 6 inch stack of Ferrari of Houston receipts for less than your asking price. Car was owned by a well known Challenge Driver who still is pretty deep in the Ferrari circles. It sat in my shop for 3 years before I decided to dump about $20,000 in it to fix it up for a track day fun car. Car is fun till 3rd gear, then you realize you are quickly outpowered and outbraked by mostly everything else on the track.

Imho, it's a $20,000 to $25,000 in current condition and in today's environment. You asked...

    Good luck with your sale.

Oh , I know it wouldn't likely come close , hence the "make offer" part. Car should be very light compared to one's with all the street car stuff . If I can get the ARCA car sold , I'd end up setting the 348 up for vintage racing, just want one of the 2 sold .... or come up with funding to run both a few times a year! I just don't get the comment's from the "concours guy's" that think anything not full factory is junk ..... this car was probably never on the street and has evolved even father than original challnge series , not so bad for those that actually like to go fast and not worry about all that waxing!

I hear ya. The car is now a race car for sure, but the "Challenge Series" car you have was a special sort. One of 32 I believe, and it was a road car converted by dealers with a "Race" kit after it was purchased. I believe the diaper rubbing concourse folks are talking about the originality of the particular series car you have and how it is now beyond that, and just a race car. My car is just a 1994 TB converted to Challenge specs and run in that year and in 1995. It was one of the 222 94 TB's made. Yours is even a lil more special as one of the 32 Challenge Series cars. I would liken it to the 1999 355 Fiorano or maybe a 348 Especial as it was a special run hence the vin plate you show in the pics.

I have to say, the addition of all of the 355 parts and bits would infer to me a large damage history for the car. With the abundance of converted 355 cars, one would assume those parts were easier to find and cheaper to replace. The chances of this car going back to concourse condition would be very slim to none. It is what it is and that’s a track day car that is still "Ferrari Expense" to run and enjoy.

I've owned other 348s and even a once converted Challenge car that was changed back to street specs... that car was pretty much a can of worms and whatever you do I would suggest not trying to convert it back to a stock road car.

I love mine though, I'm sure someone will appreciate this one the same.

To play devil's advocate, you risk scaring away legitimate buyers who might make an offer with an unrealistically-high asking price. I don't know what 348C prices are, so I defer to others on that, but if you're discussing your asking price strategy, if it were more in line with what people expect, you might solicit more offers. Your choice, though.

And, while I don't think you were directing your comments to me, I think the aggressive, arguably beligerent responses you gave turned people off to you, your car and perhaps helping you out. If you want legitimate thoughts, don't cop an attitude with them.

The 355 parts were appropriate aero updates during it's racing career.

Probably turning the clock back on these items would be a sympathetic restoration....most likely the same on engine management too.

Stock Challenge items while rare at this point will be more plentiful than custom ones....
a computer program without the laptop won't get you very far...

There's a 348 Lemans engine project car on here you may want to study.

Overpriced 348s just go nowhere, you had a professional in the market in this thread...

"Soft " market is a wry humorous understatement right now.....

This car was raced and built by Ferrari of Washington. Originally raced in Ferrari Challenge 1996. In 1997 it was converted to race in SCCA ITE class in MARRS series at Summit Point Raceway. In 1998 was transformed to what you see now and campaigned in 1998 MARRS ITE series. 355 rear subframe, quarter panels, decklid, bumper and grill were grafted in at Classic Coachworks in NJ. The engine installed in the car at that time was 348 race engine from 1994 IMSA Supercar with Racing fuel managment system. 348 gbx with custom 22/29 drop gear. Koni shock absorbers and Eibach springs, 355 CHL anti-roll bars.Car was very quick.
