Most likely it was a Iso A3C. The first "Bizzarrini's" were the racing version of the Iso Grifo made by the Iso Rivolta company. These cars were built for Iso by Giotto Bizzarrini at his company call Autostar. The A stands for Autostar the 3 stands for the third project. C for Corsa.

I am guessing the first project was the Lamborghini V12 engine, the second the Rivolta GT and the third the Racing Grifo A3C.

5300 is the call out for the engine but Bizzarrini often used it in the name too. The flat rear window still makes me think it's a A3C.

First car to have the wrap down window was B0213

First Bizzarrini built with no affiliation of Iso was B0224-0226 . Many early cars have Dymo tape over the Grifo logo on the tach and speedometer reading "Bizzarrini"

So I would guess the pictures you are looking at are labeled wrong

    Thank you very much.

Might someone have more info on the Europas? Such as drive train specs, any race history, etc.

    Thanks

Opel drive train this car was designed for Opel. They sent out quotes to a number of builders to design a small affordable sports car. Bizzarrini bid on it and lost. Opel won.

has anyone ever mentioned the Shah of Iran Bizzarini in the Karaj auto museum?

Is there any F-chatter in this forum who is planning a trip to Iran?
The Shah´s auto collection is in Karaj, only 15 miles West of Tehran.
I would be interested in a few more shots of the Shah´s Stutz Blackhawk:

This car is not listed in the STUTZ registry yet: http://www.madle.org/eregist.htm
So any photo and info of the VIN would be appreciated.

I don't know if you are still around Fchat, or looking at this thread, but I have seen your car at Bobileff's a few times. I would love to read or hear about how this car came about, and how you ended up owning it. It's a lovely car. I understand from Gary that it's Testarossa based? I find the car very interesting and would love to know more about it.

Velocetwo, I was wondering if these are the chassis numbers for cars Carey Loftin purportedly owned? I have a car, GT America, that will be for sale shortly that I'm told was owned by Loftin. He sold it to Max Balchowsky. chasiss # 286...this car was at one time green and if you look at the Bullitt opening credits at 2:38 you can see what appears to be a dark colored , blue or green??, Bizzarrini....

    please see the attached photo..

I am going to guess that that is blue. The green car was in the Movie Eiger Sanction.

He also had a Bizzarrini in Herbie the love bug (red) and I have a picture of him with a white Bizzarrini.

He also owned a Iso Rivolta GT

Max Balchowsky took the two crashed Sebring Iso A3C race cars and built them into one car.

ex Dr. Ernest Nagamatsu Funny I was at CI lat year and a Japanese guy approached me and mentioned he had owned numerous iso and bizzarrini's. He said he sold the Bizzarrini because of the glare from the windshield, kept it a few months and sold it. I wonder if that was him? I wish I got his number.

It makes sense since he owns old Yaller and Balchowsky was tied into Bizzarrini.

What color is your car now, red?

He also has a website on Old Yeller and Max Balchowsky.... http://oldyeller2.com/index.html

My car # 286 is now a reddish bronze color...The car is basically original except for three coats of paint and a holley carb that supposedly Loftin added, there are articles that mention he would modify his cars with Holleys and one with an auto trans.....

if you look at the jamb in one of my photos you can see the green paint....

I just found out some very good info...

As mentioned before an article in "American Car Prices" featured Carey Loftin and the Bizzarrini and what I believe is this (#286) car. The article photo is black and white but the cover is what follows. The owner just realized after staring at it since 1987 that the cover is in color!

We also have the original bill of sale, in Italian, from when the car was purchased at a car show in Geneva.

The car in the article is a GT America, does 286 have a fiberglass body and IRS rear end?

After review of the Bullit car and this film I think they may both be green, possibly same car. Question is, does your car have IRS ? Aluminum or fiberglass.
