Oh sorry, just saw this. I won't be available that day. But great job planning this! It sounds like it will be a lot of fun.
Here are a few more pics of the 'Electra' classic yacht if you were unable to open the PDF file pics I posted a couple of posts before. The pic of the dining area is for a wedding...too fuffy for us. Anyway four more yacht venues to come. I'll be in Newport Friday the 30th to take a tour of the boat, more pics to come. Do it, John! If nothing else, you're sure to go home with the F-chat watch! I'm a sucker for cross-country road trips...way too much fun.
Just over a week ago, we had a FOC event here in San Diego. Thanks to the extreme generosity of one of our local members, it was hosted on his yacht (100 feet of WOW with a huge Ferrari flag flapping). Everyone who attended kicked in $50 to cover for food/drinks. It was a phenonmenal event...unreal. We were even boarded by the US Coast Guard (a crew member later told us that they routinely stop yachts like this under suspicion of illegal activities). See pics (do we have a "pretty girls with yachts" thread yet?). Getting off topic ... my point is that I like the boat idea. I wonder if we kept the event limited to a small crowd; perhaps 20 or so - is there someone in the crowd that wants to host on their boat? We all promise to behave and not spill cocktail sauce on the teak. Sorry, I guess after last week, I'm just completely spoiled. PS Huge thanks to Bushwhacker, VTC, and others that have been stepping up to organize this and offer 'goodies'. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just e-mailed the K-1 Irvine racing cart venue for an estimate to do a little cart racing instead of the Irvine Spectrum theater film screening. At K-1 they may be able to accommodate both cart racing and the screening in one of their AV rooms. Depends on cost...we'll see, things are just coming together. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just heard from the Hornblower yacht people today as well and they provided some information pertaining to our event. Pictured is a pic of the 'Dream Maker' suitable for our size group. More to come. Image Unavailable, Please Login
