Cool Mike, Like I said earlier nothing is locked in yet as far as a firm date. Just trying to get a grasp with different venues what availability and costs are. We will need to lock in a time fairly soon though as these venues book well in advance...especially being a Saturday gig.

Just picked up this thread. Sign me up! I live in Irvine, so nearby to the action. Definitely recommend Cars & Coffee if it's a Saturday. Only problem is the early hour (7am) but otherwise is great because it doesn't dominate the day's schedule. K1 sounds great-- we can beat their karts up rather than our cars! If we don't do some kind of autocross event, there are lots of nearby interesting roads (Ortega Hwy, Santiago Canyon, etc) to drive. Looking forward to it, will be following this thread. Well here's the plan so far. 1. We meet in the AM at Irvine Spectrum 2. Drive over Laguna Canyon Road to Coast highway 3. Drive down the coast to Del Mar 4. Have lunch on the patio , on the beach at either Jake's or Poseidon, not a buffet so everyone picks up their own tab. 5. Drive back up 405 to the 5 and K1 Kart Racing in Irvine. 6. Drive over to Newport and board our selected yacht for our dinner/cocktail presentation cruise. Some notes: Looked into Cars&Coffee for Saturday AM but it's too early. You HAVE TO BE THERE before 6 AM. We've all done that a zillion times before and it makes for a long day and Ferrari is not the marque of the day so parking together will be impossible. Hey, we did it three years ago with over 105 Ferraris, maybe another time. I am looking for some volunteers to step up and take on the coordination and details of each one of the legs mentioned previously plus a finance guy to handle the monies to be collected from everyone. I will handle the dinner cruise coordination. I've made initial contact with many. Sponsors for donations to the drawing on the yacht /products/ services/ dinner for two somewhere, etc.etc. You must attend the dinner cruise to partake of the drawing. The list is growing, a Ferrari Chat watch from VTC, Signed limited edition framed and matted prints, 1/43 Ferrari models, A Bell helmet, Various 348/355 tees and caps, etc. Come on lets get some more stuff going here so everyone wins. Finally we have to lock in a date soon so we can make firm arrangements, either Saturday the 28th of September or the 9th of October.? Oh yeah...don't forget to go to the master attendee list and add your spouse, girl friend or friend that will be attending. That's the scoop for now...more to come.
Heh, heh...hey!, get those garage queens out and let'em rip!!!!!!!!" There was this guy once that used to say "Drive it like you stole it" I thought you guys like to drive? Seriously, let's hear from you guys. Instead of driving ALL THE WAY. down to Del Mar...pant, pant!!!!!!!!We could just get a later start and drive over to the coast through Laguna Beach down to Dana Point for a leisurely lunch...maybe the Chart House on the bluff or is there another place in Dana Point or San Juan Capistrano on the beach that anyone knows that can accommodate our group? My vote still goes for Del Mar, Cardiff, Lucedia, Cardiff, Encinitas, etc. but hey, I'll be the guy in the Range Rover with my CUP HOLDERS sipping ice tea and listening to Antonio Carlos Jobin on the 12 speaker Harman Kardon.
I'm in So Cal for a couple of days for a wedding and I'm checking out different, venues, yachts etc. while I'm here. Also timing some drives and distances as well, aka, Delmar restaurants, parking etc. It is summer and obviously the roads are packed on the coast and freeways but as FBB, Vince and VTC have mentioned before....simple is good and the drive from Irvine Spectrum to Del Mar as I drove today can be a long haul...... so..................I'm rethinking possibly dropping the drive entirely or making it a short drive from Spectrum via Laguna Canyon Rd. down the coast for lunch at Dana Point? Still researching and getting prices at KI Karting in Irvine and dinner on the yacht. I have appointments to see the Yachts on Friday...so I'll post some pics of the boats and keep you posted. Cheers.........Dennis
Dennis, I propose that we have some awards. I propose the "Ernie" award for the owner with the ferrari longest "out of service" who shows up at this event in a non-ferrari.
Not sure if the date is set on this yet, but in case the Fchat watch is not ready, I will have another watch as the backup. My friends in Italy take the month off in August, they return on the 23rd, and need a few days of yawning and stretching before their brains are back at work Just in case we have Italian delays, I have a back up
