Thinking of buying a 360 instead of the 348.

Is it as easy to do engine out services on the 360 as on the 348???

Is it possible for me to do the services myself, as I have done with my 348 ???

    Thanks....

engine does NOT come out on the 360 for service.
360 is hands down much more user friendly than the 348

regular belt service on a 360 will be a breeze compared to your 348.......

I went from the same route... started my search for a 340, 355 and ended up with a 360 spider.

Why people keep saying that you have to take out the engine for service!!

Yesterday I went to a local "performance for exotic car" and I ask for a EUC's re-flash. He asks me if I need a change on the timing belts and I told him that I did it myself. You got to see his face! He ask me if I took the engine out which I said no. We start a hard discussion which I end up calling them thief! That they like to rip off people because their ignorance! They don’t know what there are doing!!

I've had this kind of experience in the Corvette world. I plan to use the big name shops when I get my car next year. I'll pay the extra for reputable service.

Jim there are plenty of good independents out there..........dont write them off, just gotta find one.
Word of mouth is typically the best way to go.

Chas, definately agree. I know there are some good independants. Smithmotorworks in Panama City is one that I've heard nothing but good things about. Just saying I'll be more careful about who I spend my money with on an Fcar. Ferrari service and mods are just smidge more expensive than on a Z06. lol

    cheers,
    Jim

I just went from a 348 spider to a 360 spider this month. The two cars are really night and day.

The 348 IMO, is really a raw oldschool Ferrari. No power steering, or power ANYthing in the car except for the windows. It also feels so much smaller than the 360. The looks are classic however. The 348 also does not drive anywhere near the caliber of the 360. In fact, the 348 was very "swimmy" at high speeds.

The 360 is very refined on the inside and offers a lot more in horsepower. The F1 transmission is SO much fun also. However, this might wear off in time lol

As far as service goes, i think the 348 will be much less expensive to maintain than the 360, simply because there isnt much that can break (power top, seats, F1 pump, etc). Plus, and I have heard this from many credible Ferrari mechanics, that the 348 is the most reliable of all of the Ferraris

.......the less sophisticated ......less parts break......and if the 348 is the most reliable....
....now you made me think and consider......again...

    Thanks anyway, all of you.
