I cant believe that you have got me looking at all of these pictures again!! You really have done a cracking job Steve !
+1. Bob would be shocked if he saw the condition of his old car now. He/we used to call it "Bobs siht box" A fine job there Steve.
Wow, so you must have your own body shop? Wish I could do this, must be the same sickness, when it starts it doesn't stop!
This car looked like it took a deep in water and Steve has saved it from drowning, amazing job, keep those progress pictures coming we are all taking notes.
TBF to the car, although it was tatty and dirty it was quite a solid car.The wbiggest cause of all it's issue was that it had been used in salty conditions and not cleaned off. This is highlighted in the pics of the oil pipe which runs from the engine to the tank. The collar on the hose onto the tank was really corroded and split. The one from the cooler to the tank was stripped as well so both needed replacing or repairing. New items were around £550 each from Ferrari, sent them to a company over here who replaced all the damaged unions and the braided hose sections for about £100......result. Throttle pedal always looks tatty once the coating starts wearing so I gave that a bit of a freshen up. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hood fitting time, not as difficult a job as you may think as you can see from the pics the header rail and back rail are both fitted to the hood off the car then this assy is then fitted to the frame. However, quite a bit of time was spent straightening the frame and setting it up in the correct position. Absolutely brilliant rebuild, this is a dream restoration for me! I look forward to seeing more pics!
The original Grey interior, apart from looking like something from an 80's porn film was pretty tired and had been reconnolised afew times in it's past quite badly. Took the decision to have the interior retrimmed in a colour that was more inkeeping with the TDF. before Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Thanks Pap I'm really pleased with the way the interior has turned out. The retrim cost me £1250, that included 2 hides.
Looks awesome man, it really does! That is CHEAP!! Would be cheaper for me to post my interior there for a full retrim and back than have it done here locally. They do **** work here and charge ya an arm and a leg.
We all know about the sticky plastic trims and the ones on this car were no exception. The corner trims on the rear of the mirrors were split quite badly as you can see.Thought I would experiment with these before having a go at the rest of the trim.
