Anybody tried it recently? Major improvement!
I like it too.... but the only downside is they did away with the "cached" option, for images that might no longer be at the host site but are stored at Google. I found that I used that fairly often, to grab a photo that was no longer hosted at the site, but was on a hard drive in Cupertino. Unless maybe I'm not seeing it in some new place... that could be. Image search looks the same to me as it always has; has that new control bar/filter to the side, never use it. What is this 'swirl' feature? I don't see a button to click for it. I know, I'm probably sounding like and internet 'tard here. The swirl feature isn't a mac specific thing, is it?
Never mind. Image search hasn't changed, but Image swirl is a new search feature, like video search, or news. At least that's how I see it. I still come across some cached images with the regular image search though.
I don't know why you're not experiencing the other changes. Among other changes, the results even look completely different: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Are you using internet explorer on a PC? The view you posted is what image search looks like on my wife's iMac using Safari. All my PC's running IE look 'almost' like the old image search results. The toolbar to the left side of the screen is new. I don't run Firefox so I don't know if it appears different with this as well.
Just what I'm used to. I've never really had a problem with it. I maintain a 6 pc, 2 mac network at home with an iPad as well. My wife like the mac interface, I prefer the Microsoft.
