Tom Cruise is in career-salvage mode. He doesn't automatically ring the register at the box office any longer, he's too old to excite the youth and he's got the whole creepy Scientology thing shadowing him. So he's resorting to PR stunts like this in the hope of reclaiming some cool factor among the ever-important 18-35 demo. But hey, if someone wants to invite you on TV to stunt drive a car like that, why the hell not!

It was the best episode of Top Gear in a long time.

Finalgear provides a link to a "torrent" file which you then use to download the full show via a program such as utorrent. It's just a way of downloading large files. They usually offer three (?) formats, standard def, hi def 720p and I think 1080p.

That was my second fav TG of all time. Second only to the special featuring the Bolivian death road.

My favorite part was the Senna tribute - I was almost in tears. But the Veyron SS segment was fantastic also. And the laps by the stars were very good. Only time-wasting bit was the ice race.

Yup, a lot of people don't like Top Gear because of their messing about and jokes that they make etc etc, but sometimes the TG boys including the producer Andy Wilman can just get a film or a whole episode perfect.... THIS was that episode.

P.S. I added something because she was bloody good too.

Wayne Garvie, head of BBC denies TG is about cars, and he's right.

The episode was awesome...I roared out-loud at the 2 wheel adventure by Cruise (had no idea it was coming). He set the record by a mile...and Cameron Diaz was in 2nd pos on the leaderboard...who knew she could drive? Clarkson probably had a pup-tent in his pants when he was a passenger while Diaz did doughnuts on the track.

    The Senna tribute was excellent.

The snowmobile race and Bugatti top speed run were awesome as well but other segments really stole the show for me.

    Excellent. Thanks for sharing

Great episode and segments. Cameron Diaz for sure can drive.

The tundra/ice part was good fun, Veyron Super Sport awesome and the Senna piece simply outstanding. I liked how Clarkson put it "Villeneuve was spectacular on a number of occasions. Senna he was spectacular every single time he got in the car"

I felt Hamilton's intervention was lackluster though. They should have used Button who is a nicer and genuine chap, and the current champion.

Ex scientologist and Billionaire James Packer claims the only reason Tom Cruise is still in the cult is because they recorded his "auditing sessions" (talk therapy sort of) and are holding it over his head.

The Ayrton Senna segment was by far the best segment in several seasons and maybe ever on TG.
Clip of Schumacher crying when he ties Senna's record for wins. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOQjYCwgLdE

It is funny how two people can observe a pair of drivers and come up with exactly opposite conclusions. Hamilton seems like a kid living out his dreams while Button often comes across as a ***** with more mouth than skills.

i think, we should wait until some more celebs have driven. he only had to beat 12 people to be in top position. ;)

with exception of the touareg-bit this was a great great episode! best in a long time!

Diaz can drive, no joke, but beating the top time by a full second when everyone else was so close, was insane. I skipped the Senna tribute. Never really an F1 fan, and the Prost kamikaze shenanigans was totally unsportsmanlike and a cowardly move. Watching that crap makes me miss him even less.

People see the same things and interpret them differently. To each his own, no question about it. Awesome video nontheless. :)
