I have a 2005 GranSport with 22k on it. It is a one owner lady driven car. I currently have it for sale and the potential buyer is asking about clutch life. What percentage would you consider replacing the clutch, it is an F1. It has had an easy life and the car is well maintained and in excellent condition. I believe the clutch life left is in the 30% range. Is that considered needing a clutch soon. Also the Maserati dealer in Ft Lauderdale said a clutch job costs $7000.00. I have heard guys doing it for less than $2000.00. What is the real deal on that. I would not have to have a Maserati dealer do it if it indeed does need a clutch. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

these maserati dealers are really something. my clutch shows %100 gone and i am still zooming about. took car in because the top would not drop completely. service rep. said i needed a new top $27,000! my retort was, 'lessen you cut the BS' top repair 345/ also lub was $1600! bill was 375. buyer needs to know that he is buying a used car or go elswhere. you do not need a clutch, just keep the thing in sport mode. little old ladies can do a lot of damage unknowingly.

The clutch is 35% worn at 37,000 miles on my Gransport. Life is good and this is a great car. I would wait until the clutch starts to slip before replacing it. The wear number is just a factor of use measured by the computer. Your clutch will probably last for a couple more years.

    Gransports are a terrific value.
