Why really was Mark told to slow in the German GP?. Apparently there was an oil issue with his engine and yet RedBull now say the engine is fine ... I'm confused:
Interestingly Vettel and Mark now have the same points ...

So what is going to happen when Mark has to use this engine again, drive the whole race slowly? I also didn't see any blue smoke ...

Reads to me like RedBull are far cleverer with team orders than Ferrari!

The problem was an oil-pickup issue. Mark slowed down, thus avoiding any damage being done to the engine. Had he kept up a good pace, he probably would have damaged the engine. No team orders at play.

Anyway, how would this be a team order, it wouldn't have affected Vettel. Mark was back in 6th, so he would have had to pass two drivers to even see Seb, and that's two chances at getting his car airborne...

:), yes but if he had passed Button then he would still be leading Vettel in the WDC, and thus should be getting the preferential treatment (if you believe that is why Horner gave Vettel the new wing, ie. driver leading the points).

Horner has stated that the driver leading will now get the preference ... and I believe, as does almost everybody down this end of the world, that the team want Vettel to be their star and Mark to be the number 2, thus they could not have Mark leading (in points) their "hero" again.

Problem now solved, quietly. If I was Mark I'd want to see proof of this oil pickup issue ...
