Iam going to buy a scud in a few months and it doesnt have scud stripes..I really dont mind because it looks good without them and gives it more of a stealth look..When I had mentioned maybe putting stripes on all the dealers I talked to said DONT DO IT!! if its not on the window sticker it will hurt the cars value.. I can definately live without them but the scud or even 16M stripe would look good...My car will be Grigio Silverstone with red/black interior..I was even thinking of putting on red scud stripes with the black outline,(From Brendon)...good or bad move.?...I would like to hear opinions as right now I would leave it as is(none)...Will putting on stripes hurt the value..? I know its my car but I appreciate the input of F-chatters on this subject...Kevin

Add the stripes in vinyl and see how you like it for a while.. then if you change your mind later you can always pull them off and have the original look back.

Put the stripes on if it makes You happy and don't worry about what others say. If you get them done in vinyl you can take them off or change them whenever you like so there's no effect on the resale value whatsoever.

    Have fun..

Your stripes can be purchased here-
They are also a site sponsor & have THE best stripes.. Yes I added one to my spider. If I wish to be like the other 5000+ plain stock spiders I could have stayed a conformist.. Not me, I always add some kind of personalization to everything I own.

Post pics once you get it striped :)

It's your car.... do what YOU want!!

If it's done in vinyl, it can always be taken off.

I agree with everyone here. It's your car and you can do with it what you wish. I don't see it hurting the value. Scuds are known to have strips on them.

Thanks everyone for the replies...I wanted your opinions because I didnt want to start out by defacing a piece of art so to speak...If I do it I will probably go with the scud stripes (red with the black outline) and chrmer3 I will get them from 360 performance..!! Now I have the hard part waiting until my wifes business sale is complete which wont be until late Sept early Oct...Its going to be excruciating waiting to get my first exotic but Iam sure it will be worth it..Kevin

PS Is there anyone out there that can photoshop red scud stripes with black border on a Grigio Silverstone Scuderia..? I can supply some [email protected]

If you do vinyl stripes with the notion that they will be temporary, and you plan to remove them, then you will have to minimize your car's exposure to the sun for as long as they are on. The sun will fade the paint everywhere else, and the stripes will leave a shadow if/when you remove them. There are a lot of variables that will affect how much/how fast the paint is affected, but the bottom line is: time is of the essence. If you decide you don't like them, decide quick.

    Thanks Bob,
I hear you and thats why I would like a photoshop done before I would even think of doing it...I found out from Brenden today that they can make my red scud stripes but it will be a special order at 495.00 plus install fees...I really dont want to through that money away if I dont like it but Iam thinking it will look good as long as its installed correctly..

If you ever owned (or even driven) a Scud you will realize that the sound and feel are all that matters. The stripe is for certain owner's who need to be recognized as having a better vehicle. All true Ferrari enthusiasts can spot a Scud from a mile away.....even without the stripe.

That costs far too much - ask your local vinyl design shop to make you one up - $100 max cost fitted.

your "local vinyl shop" will not be able to match what 360perormance does. The guy that did my install was one of those "local vinyl shops" & even commented on how they were made & that he could not duplicate the effect of these stripes..

So, you get what you pay for.

I got a CS stripe from 360Performance last winter, but never put it on, was a little nervous about being able to take it off later if needed for resale, or if it was "overdoing" it a little bit...

But you know what, after months of that debating, I have decided f*** it, my car in red with the CS wheels will look awesome with the stripe. I know I will love it, and what other people think really doesn't matter. I'm the one who worked my butt off a year to buy the car.

So soon as I get back from overseas working, the first things I will do is touch up a few stone chips on the bumper, then put on that wonderful stripe from 360Perf. I can't wait to see my 'faux CS' sitting in the drive, I know it will give me goosebumps.

Now only if I had jumped on those $3000 CS carbon fiber mirrors that were listed here a few weeks ago! :)
