I got my new F430 smog checked last week and driving it home the CST and ABS lights were illuminated, which I was sort of expecting due to the dyno. After a couple miles they went away and the "Suspension Error" light was still on the main display.

However, I drove it again today (first time since last week) and the CST and ABS lights are back on, along with the BRAKE light. I'm *assuming* that this is just due to the smog check and I drove it around a bit and I obviously still have brakes, but needless to say I'm pretty worried given the dire warnings in the manual about the CST ABS BRAKE combination.

    Help?

I think help is at your local dealer who can read the codes and decide if they just need clearing or something else is wrong. Why would you want to mess with anyone else?

    Good luck,

Yeah, that's what I'm planning on doing, except the local Ferrari dealer isn't so local and given the dire warnings in the manual I'm a little worried about driving it at all, you know what I mean?

Any warning lights that have to do with the brakes or traction control are going to be printed in bold red type in the manual -- by their lawyers. They don't want anyone driving it with any possible problem in those areas for their own sake.

I do suggest you bring it to the dealer as soon as possible though. If you call them, I'm sure they will just say bring it in.

Assuming it's under warranty, you can probably get it transported to the dealer on their nickel. Ask about it.

    Just to update...

Took it to my local shop (Independent Ferrari expert) and he hasn't been able to clear it from the computer. Even disconnected/reconnected the battery and no luck yet. Still trying to figure out what the problem is, as the car is "stuck" in "Rough Road" mode.

Doesn't think it's anything mechanical and it seems almost 100% that the smog check caused it, so... crossing my fingers it's nothing too serious. My guy isn't super concerned, so that's a plus...

I had all my lights blinking simultaneously and after a long troubleshooting the cause was the voltage regulator. It happened every time I pushed the gas. Just a hint but for sure your dealer will found the cause.
    Good luck.

Well, this took a strange turn...

Finally got a call back from my shop - the lights were totally unrelated to the smog check, it was just a VERY badly timed coincidence. The wiring leading to the front right wheel sensor had been chewed away by rodents or something. Teaches me to park it in the mountains, apparently...

So, lesson today that I've learned: Even though things may look, from every reasonable standpoint to be closely related, they may not be. And I need to get some outdoor cats.

So when hooked up to an SD3 computer it told the operator it was a ABS Wheel Sensor NO SIGNAL fault, which I assume the wire was then checked and volia! Damaged wire issue resolved. How did they solve the problem? Was it a replacement piece of loom or something else?

    How much did they charge your for;

    1) hooking up sd3 and pulling the fault code
    2) replacing the piece of broken wiring?
    3) total labor

Glad your car is now fixed again!

Yep, that's exactly what happened. $400 for all of it - locating, repairing the wires, etc. Seemed pretty reasonable to me!

Glad to have my baby back :)
