Ferrari appears to have violated the team oder rule today, would you

  1. Penalize Ferrari for "team orders"

  2. No penalty

Me, personally, would ban Ferrari from one GP as penalty for the "completely obvious" team orders. This would send the message to tother teams not to do that.

So the issue isn't corruption but obvious corruption? We need a better class of cheaters? :)

I a nutshell, you are correct.

Because they did a terrible job of cheating they have brought the sport into disrepute. The fact that we are still talking about it in such a negative way proves it. For this they must and will be severely punished.

Embrace the hypocrisy that is F1!
Better to change the rules that make such artifice necessary.

Well until they change the rules please try to not break them in such an obvious way if you do not want to suffer the consequences...

Well yes particularly in this case, there is not some conspiracy against Alonso, as some seem to suggest, it is just the manner in which it was done, and anyone with a dislike of Alonso this has only but fueled it.

Ferrari have not had the sporting interest in mind making that call, only there own interests, thats where the problem is IMO.

If Massa wins in Budapest it will be forgotten.

That would be poetic wouldn't it.

BTW I don't think there is anyone involved in F1 capable of pulling off a conspiracy, which I do find reassuring ;)

F1 and the FIA have become such big bureaucracies that their primary function is churning out rules just to justify their own existence. Simplify, simplify. The solution to every problem is not another restriction.
Still waiting for Todt to make a difference.

And furthering that it would be great if Massa punted Alonso off the track on the first lap in Hungary, then went on to win.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. ;)

+1 He does seem alarmingly quiet right now - Hopefully he's "listening and learning" before stamping his personality onto this mess.....

The day Mosley left, the FIA got 100% better, Todt has a lot to do to put it all right, I was sceptic of Todt at first I admit, yet to date IMO although it may not seem it as a Ferrari fan, it appears to be run in a fairer manner under the current rules, and that tells you alot!.

Todt is a thinker and he is some what distancing himself from the front line for a reason.

The boys from Woking know how to get it done without needless embarrassment.

    Right on.

I do have to say I'm puzzled at the amateurish display the team gave. Just give Massa some criptic code like "conserve fuel/the brakes/the engine".

Then again a little birdy tweeted that the amateurish approach might have been deliberate as a team reaction to a command from very high above...Those birds, what do they know?

With any other team suggesting those Machiavellian machinations would be tin hat territory.
With Ferrari they're in keeping with an age old tradition ;)

Are you suggesting that Ferrari wants to force the issue on team orders with the FIA? The Ferrari i have been watching for the last few years is nowhere near that intelligent.

I would love to believe it but I don't. Why did they go on to lie and lie and lie some more after the race? Are they trying to bring F1 in disrepute on purpose? That is not very smart is it? If they have done this on purpose a $100 million fine is the only answer, i am not sure if you are aware but there is a precedent.
