    360trev,

Do you have some kind of 2 step launch control on your car?

    Dash out...

Stripped of leather and sound proofing. Also of all soft touch material (new lighter weight, higher quality stuff will be used), prepped and ready for fitmet of grey alcantara with red stitching. This is currently being produced (in progress), pictures to follow. Lower dash already recovered in red alcantara, glove box removed (saving several kilo's).

Now that the 458 Challenge was announced lots of the European race teams are selling them off, each Ferrari campaigned F430 Challenge came with x5 sets of 4. Thats 20 wheels per car supplied so there are a LOT of these wheels kicking around if you know where to look.

PM me if you want some details. The biggest issue ofcourse isn't the wheels, its the hubs. Big cost here I'm afraid so only the hardcore nuts may apply... ;)

Thats the same socket used on the Enzo btw :)

    Ok,

Not a huge amount of progress but still its moving along.

Here's a latest picture of the full dashboard top, previous pictures showed it stripped of leather (bare) waiting for a template to be made up...

Here's picture (work in progress) of the fitting work going on in Grey Alcantara with red stitching...

Not all of it is yet glued, instrument binnacle, rear air vents, etc. but all the 'soft touch fabric has been fitted and all the air vents are no in place. Probably just a few more hours labor left to get it ready to install..

Very pleased with the results but its lots of painstaking hard work...

A written off strad. CF door panels are rare to come by, I may get a company to re-create them in CF if there is enough demand.

TBH there was way too much damage to salvage most of the interior including the dash. I've now converted my own (see ongoing work) to Alcantara...

that interior is truly stunning! Every 360CS interior should look this good. Seeing the gutted doors with the carbon fiber inserts, suede, and the gated 6-speed, BEAUTIFUL!!! Thanks for posting the pics, I'm sure you'll have a few people interested in this car if and when you part with it!

    Trev,

Have you considered of shedding additional weight by removing windshield wiper motor, blade, washer motor, and washer fluid reservoir? I estimate the combine weight would be around 25~30lbs of weight saving.

It is not unheard of, I and many NSX owners have done it, it is not that bad in areas that rarely rains. As far as I know a lot of car guys don't even drive weekend cars in rains.

Sorry Trev, it has been a while since I've seen your progress. The Dash looks great. Are you going to delete the radio as well?

    Lots happening in the background.

Been emailing Napolis (James Glickenhaus) about his awesome recent P4/P5 projects based on the 430 Scuderia so suffice to say I'm hoping to be able to broker a deal with some of his team and get some of his breaker 430GT performance parts on my car soon.

    Watch this space.

Need the Wipers in Europe, it rains here a LOT ;) even in summer! Also need them to keep it road legal registered. Even our Challenge cars have wipers here ;)

I've seen some tricks the challenge racers do with regadings to remove unnecessary weight from non load bearing parts [they've done this on the wipers too] by drilling holes so I'll have to see what they recommend.

Quite a bit of weight can be shaved off by removing the vent fan and box and replace with a NACA duct on the front hood.

430GT2 CF doors with fixed Lexan windows will also save quite a bit of weight. Only problem is they are for LHD car so only LH door has a honey comb crash bar reinforcement.

Have you tried replacing all the glass with Lexan? Quite an inexpensive mod.

    good post.

Will ask them about the CF doors!

Any idea what the weight savings on the doors are? I could always get a half roll cage fitted in the car. I already have 360 Challenge seats so lower impact bars wouldn't make much of a difference. I'm not to keen to add full cage since I don't want to be forced into wearing a helmet at all time on the street. Perhaps I could just add some impact beams to those doors using the reference point of the normal doors as an example.

Anyone have a full parts list pdf or good description of the changes between a 430 Challenge (which I have full access to) vs 430GT. I know aero was attended to but it looks like there where extensive changes that I don't really have much information on at this stage.

    Trev,

which CS kit do you have genuine or from Pro Sport ? I was under the impression that it was from Pro sport since they have you on their website.
