Everytime I take my F430 for a drive, there seems to be some black residue leaking from the exhaust and into the bumper. It's always there every time I look after driving (even if I wipe it off beforehand) Does anybody have any idea what it can be? Just took delivery of the car a few weeks ago and it's been doing it since day one. I don't know if this is normal or not and can provide pictures if necessary. Thanks!

get the fabspeed aftermarket tips.... extend them out a little bit, and you can prevent the drip onto the paint.

Yes it derives from poodling about too much at low revs - you guys need to put your foot down and blast the exhaust through once and a while.. :p :p :p

    Exactly it !!!
Some probably don't drive long enough to get the exhaust system warmed up :D Gotta' watch those miles ;)

Thanks for the replies. I drive the car every other day at the least and put a minimum of 40 miles each time I drive it, so do the math ;)

Mileage is no issue.... otherwise, why buy it? :) I have some Picasso's that I can sit and stare at

Only happens during warmup - caused by water vapour (normal product of combustion) and rich fuel mixture (necessary during initial startup and warmup). Water vapour should disappear after a few minutes.

I have a spare rag to wipe away the annoying liquid from the tips after start up.

They all do it. Wipe it down immediately after driving, otherwise it will stain.
