Person who drove their Ferrari furthest to the Get Together. Highest mileage on the odometer. Cleanest/dirtiest car. Person with the most tasteful mods. Best exhaust note. The last two are really subjective, so I'm not sure how they would work without some sort of a vote prior to the dinner/awards ceremony.
Shorter drive is a good idea since I wasn't really in favor of schlepping it to SD. The queen does have her limits. As for awards, there must be a Stooge-of-the-Year award for most Stooge-like behavior or repair or something. Again, it seems like we are coming up with awards that only Ernie can win...
Yuk, Yuk...........Hmmmmmmm........ Ernie the all knowing, grand poobah, majestic great creator, emperor of the 'Brotherhood'? Something light and understated like that? Vince, I think a "stooge' award for all the 'Stooges for service beyond the call of duty.
B!tch!'n Chris ....... or for all you HoDads, non surfer's, non Californian's and kids.........cool !
Ok, I'm in LA and meeting with yacht venues, restaurants, etc. in the next couple of days. It's IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!! to give them REAL dates for this gig. Here's the options so let's hear from you guys what your preferred single date is. 1. Saturday,25th of September 2. Saturday, 2nd of October 3. Saturday, 9th of October Meeting with the various venues Friday so Let's hear it!!!!!!!!!!! Putting final details together now...IT WILL BE A MUCH SHORTER DRIVE for everyone... probably to Dana Point for lunch via PCH from Irvine Spectrum.
Here are my choices in order: 1. Saturday,25th of September 2. Saturday, 2nd of October 3. Saturday, 9th of October

Spent a couple of days in LA attending a wedding and meeting with the two finalists for the yacht dinner cruise, dates , prices, etc. Kinda like coming home to Newport, grew up there. I'll post a few pics soon. One thing finalized is the date...everyone's booked the 25th September and October 9th.....THE DATE IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....Saturday October 2. A couple of pics I snapped on Friday when touring the 'Electra' yacht, 97 ft. long. Really amazing, the entire yacht is perfectly restored, state rooms, etc. It was built in 1927 and has had a couple Presidents on board as well as it was used in 'Frost Nixon' as the presidential yacht. Also 3 friendly but mischievous ghosts haunt her. It looks like the estimates so far favor the Electra for the most bang for the buck...4 hour dinner cruise. I'm putting the final costs together now but must commit in the next couple of days or we'll lose the yacht and date. Stay tuned. Bummer for me, I was very excited to go. I am in the wedding biz and have to work Oct. 2. So take me off the list. Hopefully an event like this will happen again. Have fun!
Really Bummer. I was trying to get the 9th just so you could join us....but all the boats got booked....was really looking forward to meeting you. Who knows we'll see if the date changes again but I've got to lock it in the next couple of days with a deposit.
Trying to get schedule options out later today with and without Karting, with and without the lunch drive and finally just the dinner cruise itself. I talked to Vince yesterday and he had a great idea as far as bringing the fair ladies along with us. An option would have the women drive down separately or car pool down for the dinner cruise alone if they did not want to go on the drive or Karting at K1. Think about it, we really need around 32 peeps for the yacht /dinner portion of the event. More later...Bush.
Saturday Oct.2nd (OPTION 1) 10 AM: Meet at Irvine Spectrum / exact location TBD. 10:30 AM Leave Spectrum via Laguna Canyon Rd. to Pacific Coast Highway. Drive south on PCH to Dana Point. 11:30 AM Arrive at Chart House or other Dana Point restaurant for lunch, TBD. No buffet just order off the menu on your individual tab. 1:00 PM Leave Dana Point and drive up the 8 to the 5. 1:45 PM arrive at K1 karting in Irvine.Kart races on our own reserved track with inter group competition...maybe 348's VS. 355's..."When the green flag drops the BS stops". Dependant on costs and time we might be able to screen 'Ferrari, Victory by Design' with Alan Decadane't in one of K1's conference rooms on the big screen.VVasallo and FBB are researching this venue and it's options. 4:30 PM Leave K1 Karting in Irvine to 'Electra Yachts' in Newport Beach. I have arranged for private guarded parking on our own level of the enclosed parking structure. 5:30 PM Board our private yacht 'The Electra' with complimentary Champagne/Martinelli's upon boarding. Cruise beautiful Newport Harbor on the 'Electra' sipping Cocktails with a no host bar. Dinner to follow with choices I will post at a later date....all sound delicious. Door prize drawing and award presentations after dinner. 9:30 PM Electra docks and departure. Some may prefer to drive home and or others may wish to stay at a local hotel, some of which give discounts to Electra patrons. I will publish a list given to me by the Electra people. (OPTION 2) Option 2 eliminates the drive and lunch at Dana Point. It starts with everyone meeting at K1 Karting in Irvine at 1:30. Remainder of schedule is the same as option one. (OPTION 3) Meet at Electra Yachts for our private dinner cruise / presentations only. It starts upon boarding the yacht at 5:00-5:15 and departing at 5:30. Note: Don't forget to bring a friend or your favorite significant other. Refer back to Vince's idea in a previous thread that if they don't want to participate in the other events that may want to drive separately and join us just on the dinner cruise. We need to be at about 32 people so remember you don't have to own a 348 / or 355 to participate...heck you don't have to own a Ferrari at all....just love em.:.........Bush.
Vince is always the voice of reason. If the ladies are coming does that mean we have to take showers before dinner?
Lets say we planned everything but that could make for a long day. Perhaps the dinner cruise is the most important part and that means firm paid commitment. Karting and the drive need less of a commitment although I think there is a minimum # of people to get a private race. People could delete one of the activities as their stamina permits except the dinner cruise. good idea or bad idea?
