    Lambo gallardo and r8 have this problem. I think that common thing is direct injection. Maybe there is the problem

    What do you mean? You just said it was the direct injection, which is also present in all cali's.

    The car in this thread is a friend's car.
    When burnt to the ground Ferrari rushed to repossess the remains but the police prevented them from doing so. An investigation is on-going and as you know this is not an isolated incident. I am sure a recall is in the air.

    If I was to hazzard a guess. Maybe the fact that the new 458 does not have a gas cap and may be susceptable to fire if the driver tops up the fuel or in other words overfills the fuel tank. But that is only a guess:)

    Yes, as said before, there needs to be a recall, and fast. Looks like this fire started at right rear, where others were left rear.
