Anyone who thinks the 458 is not amazing is... well just crazy! Ferrari will do well with the 458.

I still love my 430 and will not take Jeremy's advice of not driving it for fear of embarrassment........LOL.....but I agree the 458 is stunning!!!!!!!!!!!

Me too.... but what about when the F1 system breaks in 10 years... That's my
big fear with the "modern" Ferraris.

But the 458 is A M A Z I N G as far as I'm concerned.

Gee, glad I don't own a 430, but I'd hate to hear his comments on my 360.

 

This drag race result wasn't scientific and was deliberately done for tv 'dramatic' effect.

The performance of the 458 is basically close to that of the 430 Scuderia. Yes very quick as both has similar power to weight ratio's.

Strip some kilos out of a 430 and if straight lines your thing you'll match the 458.

They where being so harsh on the F430 because one of the tv presenters (James May) recently bought a F430.

 

Holy $$HHIIITT.... I'm in complete awe of this machine, will have to wait until the honeymoon is over with my 430, but it may be soon!

But in all reality we all expected this, it has more technology and more horsepower so are we really all that surprised?

 

I thought the same thing. In the video (around 05:28 and 05:35), it's almost certain the 430 is not accelerating at full throttle. It looks like the 430 backed off it, increasing the distance between them. Or, the video was pieced together from separate runs...maybe the 430 aborted during one run and parts of that were included in the final video. Not knowing the race distance, the finish line result is difficult to comment on.

The 458 is unquestionably quicker and faster than the 430, but that "race" was staged for additional wow-factor, IMO.

 

No need to worry about it since the 458 has a DSG instead of an F1 gearbox.

 

Just marketing...so every F430 owners can ditch their car and order a 458. The 458 is the better car no questions, but just look back at Clarkson's previous reviews about the F430.

Of course, the 458 is a better car than the 430. But Top Gear is an *entertainment* show, and their commentary only approximately accurate, and with a heavy layer of drama added.

 

Despite Clarkson's suggestion, I shall not kill myself.
