    I dropped off my California for service this morning before the Sales guys arrived and was told there is a new 458 in stock. I took a quick look and sure enough it was sitting there ready for an owner.

    The Service Advisor didn't have any details but said it is "available". I suspect somebody must have bailed after placing the order. If you like white give them a call.

    I wonder how many people would jump at the chance for an early 458 even though they didn't choose the color combination or options on the car?

    If this is the car I'm thinking of it's heavily optioned ... carbon fiber etc. Strange that it's for sale. This had to be one of Algar's top 3 customers. Usually they don't walk away from a car.

    "Available" and "for sale" are two different things. It could be a flip or someone fishing for one.

    Found out this morning the car is used. It has 500 miles and is available for sale. Don't know why it was sold so quickly.

    The interior appeared to be black or a very dark blue. I noticed a fair amount of carbon fiber inside as well.

    Saw the car this past weekend.
    The interior is Black or very dark blue with white stitching.
    There is a story behind the car that I heard from a reliable source.
    and yes it is for sale.

    what are you implying?

    was it wrecked?
    is it a GTO trade?
    Is it almost a lemon?
    Is the guy going broke?

    To say that there is a story is kind of slanderous without the details...

    Nothing slanderous at all.
    The story I got was that the car was ordered by a customer. He paid for it then wanted to flip it.
    Algar rather have a true customer buy the car and enjoy it so they bought the car back, refunded the buyers money and now its for sale.
    The car is perfect and beautiful!

    Another indicator to how weak the market is. 2 years ago it would have been already sold for a premium.
    Today I doubt any one would buy with out a 10k of list deal.
    First time buyers are now offered 6-9 month delivery at MSRP.
    So I can't imagine this one being worth any premium especially if its ordered with lots of options

    I know a friend of the buyer. MSRP was over $280K. I believe the car is for sale at $325-$330K.

    You are ahead of time with the above statement.
    Maybe next year it will happen but it is not the market at the moment.
