    Hello all,

I'm new here. Gone through some great cars - 996 Turbo X50, M6, 997TT Techart Street R, Various AMG's including SL65 and finally decided to purchase and F car. And what can I say... A piece of art and great engineering. The f430 Spyder is most fun car I have ever driven.

Been browsing these forums for quite some time now, looking for the information and just couldn't find a few things.

    1. Could You advice if it is possible to buy a remote roof control for my spyder, so that I can close the roof from the distance?
    2. Could You advice some ferrari online stores?
    3. Came across the photo of floor mats which I really like. Anybody knows where I can buy those (see attch.)?

    Thank You in advance

    congrats!

Keith Collins makes top quality mats & he will make them custom to your specifications. For legal reasons he doesn't show the Ferrari stuff on his website but many people here have been very happy with his "art". http://www.artexture.com/

Just some random info... Ferrari spells Spider with an "I", not a "Y". :)

I've never heard of a remote for the roof but I would not do it even if one exists. It's not good to run the hydraulics on the battery only. The car should be idling.

    True.
I think is asking because the SL65 can do it with the key remote.

You reckon it will flatten the battery REAL quick without the car running? :):)

    It's from the manual.

I am unfamiliar with those mats but these are close and I think are available in black. Check with your local F dealer. I know these are available at F of Ft Lauderdale.

Congrats on you new car. Post some pictures.

Ok, the manual tells you to have the car idling when opening and closing the top? :):)

I wonder if our new owner here can have a remote start fitted to his car, along with the remote top so he can start the 430 remotely and then have the top open or close remotely while the 430 is running. :D:D

Then remotely turn the car off. :D:D

    Sounds good to me. :D:D

My thinking is that it draws too much current from the battery without the altermator running. The electrical connections or wiring are not strong enough to take it -- at least in the long run.

But, I'm only guessing. I know I was told this buy the dealer when I picked it up the first time.

I have raised the top once or twice on battery power with no ill effects, but I agree it is not advisable as a routine practice.

Cool man, yeah I thought you were leaning that way. :D:D

I reckon it would take its toll on the battery and reduce its life. :):)

We have MANY hydraulic components underground that can be used on battery power, or while the engine is running etc.etc. :):)

We notice the difference in battery life if we just stick to using the battery to run the hydraulics as opposed to running the engine. ;);)

Just an observation. I dont know how many amps that system draws. Wouldnt be too hard to find out I guess. :):)

Either way, be best to do it while the engine is running. Doing it a few times every now and then may not affect anything, but I dont know 100% for sure. :):)

Cool man, thanks for posting. :):)
