Why is it for Bill (someone with a well known name and reputation) to disprove the wild, unsubstantiated claims from left field?

I am curious to see if he can show any evidence of his wild claims. Hopefully he settles down and uses his vacation to gather some 'proof'...

I doubt his interest will last beyond the auction.

Please reschedule again and let him post. Give him enough rope I say. Every post of his diminishes his credability and that is starting from a very low base. IF IF IF I was looking to bid on this car would I take more notice of Bill Noon or some unknown joker???

Mr. Marcel Massini spoke on 0738 in this thread from 2005 - shockingly, his history agrees w/ Mr. Noon's . . . . chassis and motor are the real, original deal. Furthermore, Mr. Massini cites at least two publications that discuss 0738, counter to McQueen908etc's assertions.

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104331&highlight=0738

if you're going to try to counter Massini and Noon, you might want to come up w/ something that passes even the most basic smell test. . .

Exactly Bryan. I would even tend to believe YOU instead of this bloke. So let him post and provide the proletariat with some entertainment.
    Cheers

I would think that if a car is being offered for sale at a public auction (at 10 million plus) it should be guaranteed by the auction house to have a clean bill of health. Is the auction house standing behind this car 100%?

This is exactly why McQueen908Porsche should be allowed to post. This is getting entertaining. Mr Mountain Media (1 post, joined in Aug 2010) puts up that inflamatory post. That's great. People bidding on the car would tend to put more faith in Bill and Marcel that 2 unknown guys who incidently maybe one in the same.

What is inflamatory about my post? Bottom line, is the auction house standing behind this car 100%? By the way, I am not the same guy, have admin check my IP address. I may do a story on this car.

Very interesting and clearly traces and shows the history of 0738.

I agree that it would be interesting (In a train wreck kind of way) to see 908 try to counter Marcel's Posts on 0738.

One thing Marcel was wrong about however in those posts was the "P 3/4" wasn't a P 3/4 it was a 412P (0845)

    :)

Auction Houses often pull auctions which they feel have some disclosure issues.

I was featured in a TV show about one (Auto Union) and as 908 knows Bonhams pulled one that offered "Steve's 908".

As Bill has pointed out and Bryan has proven by citing Marcel's post's the disclosure on this car is quite thorough. The implication that anything underhanded is going on with this auction that 908 made is totally without foundation.

If I am wrong please feel free to refute Bill and Marcel's posts.

In this particular case I VERY much doubt that that will be happening and personally feel that 908 is showing a reckless disregard for the truth.

If you are seriously doing a story on this car I would suggest doing primary research.

Ask RM instead of asking us.

I personally have made a substantial bid on a different car (not accepted car DNS) that RM was offering (0860) and at all times felt that RM acted in total good faith in their representation of what that car was and what it wasn't.

If you want an opinion I believe they believe their auction description is completely correct.

I also believe and agree with Bill that there is full public disclosure on this car including many period photographs of it's interesting life.

I agree that 908 should be allowed to post because his posts are self defeating and the best way to show that he really has no evidence what so ever that what he's saying (that this car's chassis is a replica) is in any way true.

That's funny as hell!! You're too much!

Glad I wasn't eating or drinking anything when I read that.

Mr Noon...maybe this troll thinks he can cast enough doubt about the car so he could possibly acquire it for $5 million instead of a likely bid of over $10 million.
Don't worry about this clown. He has zero credibility. No one is going to pay him any serious attention. You spent more time rebutting his claim than he deserved.

The Market Correct figure for this car is not 15-20 million dollars.
