    Sorry...

I didn't check the estimates. I'll amend the statement to say "over $10 million."

I will be interesting to see how all of these auctions turn out.

Give me an interest free loan from grandad's trust account? I do prefer 250LMs, a 250SWB or a 335S if you are offering!!

I've lurked here for years and this is easily one of the most entertaining threads I've had the pleasure to read.

"Over 10MM USD" is a bit optimistic IMO. Somehow I don't think there will be a 12MM 250 California sold either, unless Chris shows up.

Napolis has forgotten more about these machines than I will ever hope to know, however, in the interest of Vintage pedantic accuracy, he means 412P 0854 in post #46 and (substantial bid on) 0858 in post #48.

Apparently North Korean sappers have infiltrated his keyboard in an attempt to aid McQueen908 in his efforts.
You've heard it from me boys, nobody's safe!
I'm going deep undercover and contacting Goldstein to protect my interests- legal and otherwise.

    Best,

Didn't one recently sell for 12MM? Was it that cool black one with the red nose?

Yes 0714, with the buyers premium. Very different car, very different history. Many people myself included feel that 12MM was too much money for that car. I think that this car (0738) won't see the 12MM USD mark and I don't it should given the market IMO. Unless an auction frenzy occurs, like Mcqueens Lusso caused. Just look what has happened to the American Muscle car market, though a different demographic, people aren't paying what they were just a few years ago.

What happened to the thread on 0738 started by McQueen908Porsche?? It was getting entertaining. Did someone complain about the unsubstantiated allegations being made by some people?

As a Mod, I made the decision that the thread was not so much 'interesting' as it was just a poo-slinging event... and elected to delete the thread.

If Rob wants it restored, so be it, but I don't see any good reason to let unproven allegations lay around and stink up the place...

As the thread starter became unavailable for 3 weeks, I requested thread be shut down by forum moderators for exact reason you state - unsubstantiated allegations. By courtesy of their expert analysis, Bill Noon and Marcel Massini gave ample reason to dismiss the harmful allegations, which in and of itself was launched with rather curious timing, and would prove only one thing, injurious . . . with apparent intent. While the thread itself may have been entertaining to some, entertaining the notion of actual or perceived value being affected in a negative manner ~ particularly now ~ is a serious matter, and one which this site should have no part of beyond bearing witness to disproving false allegations. As such, thread could be closed in as rapid a fashion as it was opened.

he sounds like broker wanting to cause doubt come auction time.
    Gee I hate brokers.
Wonder if he has any books or tools for sale.
i can pick 'em he sounds by the way he writes to be either a broker or a homosexual.

OK, I understand. My entertainment must defer to someone's possible large financial implications due to such unsubstantiated musings from sources unknown. Bill Noon's info was very nice to read though. The post did get him fired up, and IMO rightly so.

Removing the thread is a very bad idea.

    908 made allegations.

Bill, Bryan (quoting Marcel), other's and I refuted them.

908 besmirched the Auction House I countered.

It's important that people are able to read what happened for themselves.

By removing the thread right before the auction it will become rumor without basis that some will take as proving 908's posts were right and FCHAT is somehow covering that up.

    Sunshine is the best disinfectant.

I have bumped it up the chain for the inner inner circle to decide...

Honestly, I had not looked at it from that perspective... in the meantime, I'm going to restore the thread, and if Rob wants it re-deleted, it's his board.
