    While browsing for 308 parts on eBay, I came across this photo that looked strikingly similar to my own car:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310238043790#ht_500wt_1154

    When I noticed that the photographer is also in Colorado, I sent him an e-mail asking if this could actually be my Ferrari, as I believe that I have the only silver GTB in Colorado, and perhaps the only one in the world with this combination of fender badges and titanium center caps. . . I told him I don't mind that he took a picture of my car, as that's one of the reasons I bring my car to shows: so others can enjoy it, too.

    Turns out it is my car - photographed at this year's Automezzi (and obviously touched up).

    Neat - did you purchase the print? :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

    Yes, I couldn't resist.

    But I also sent a note to the photographer saying that I hope he continues to offer it. I rather like the idea that somebody, somewhere, is enjoying a poster of my car. :)

    You're a generous fellow!

    If the picture had been taken while you owned the car, he should be paying you for the rights!

    Also, I think your own photo of the car on your profile looks as good (if not better) :)

    Beautiful example....what color is the interior?

    Thanks for your kind words!

    I owned the car when the photo was taken at this spring's "Automezzi" all-Italian show and still do. I figure that it's okay for this photog to take a picture of my car and offer it for sale, because:

    1. My car was in a show, where it's expected that many (or even most) of the people who come will want to take pictures of the cars;

    2. The photographer (obviously) modified the background and created the "mirror" effect, which takes some artistic talent, skill, and time;

    3. The price he is charging for the print is about the same as the cost would be to me if I had taken the photo and had a service like Photobucket or Snapfish turn it into a poster.

    4. I consider it something of an honor that a professional photographer liked my car (and only one other, to my knowledge that was at this year's Automezzi) enough to decide to make it into a poster.

    5. I do wish that the photographer had introduced himself. I would have been delighted to meet him and would, of course, have gladly allowed him to take the photo to make into a poster. However, if other owners feel differently, introducing himself would have provided them an opportunity to tell him if they have any objection to having their car photographed for commercial purposes.

    6. All said and done, I thought it was really cool to be browsing "Ferrari 308" on eBay and find a poster of my own car for sale.

    7. The photog did give me a discount on the poster since it's my car. He seems like a good guy.

    The seats, door leather, and console are red, but the carpeting is black. I'll post pics of the interior if you like.

    BTW, David - your profile says you have "a few" Ferraris yourself. . .

    Please do! It sounds very interesting looking --- seen silver 308's with all red interior before, but not mixed in with the black as yours (other than the dash).

    I'm down to only two F-cars these days ---- a 550 (blue/tan) & a 308 (black/tan). I recently replaced my 355 with a Lotus Esprit V8 (silver/black) --- I hate red cars....even Ferrari's :)

    I'm sure our friends on fChat would like to see some pics of your car, David. ("Only" 2 Ferraris. Woe is you. ;) )

    Here's an interior shot of mine:

    Lovely!

    Between us, we've a matched pair: GTB and GTS.

    Fantastic work you did on it. (For those who haven't seen it, check out Argento839's profile. There is a slide show showing the painting process he performed on this gorgeous machine.)

    What year is it, by the way?
