    I don't really like the M5. I wouldn't have minded a 545i 6-speed though...

This guy is just plain stupid. I can't say I'm a perfect angel on the roads 100% of the time (as I'm sure some of you are in the same boat!) but I only share my antics with close friends. This guys ego must be bigger than the displacement of his cars motor and it serves him right. Perhaps it will take him down a notch. Reminds me of a thread shared here a few years ago about a kid who detailed his dads bmw and when dressing the tires dressed the WHOLE tire (all 4) even the treads and bragged about how great it looked, then 2 posts later said on the drive after detailing it he crashed his dads car!

I'm sure Cam Wooley is around and reads what we type, as I'm sure Woodford and Blair are lurking as well.

hey, try this for fun. How many people were killed due to RACING in all of the USA in 2002

    tic toc tic toc

In2002, there were 48 racing accidents, 1 fatality, and 60 injuries. According to the NHTSA. And the numbers are down year over year. Go a head Google it and see.

All this makes for good publicity, more budget and overtime by police forces to catch all those Fast and Furious fans out there.

\Maybe on the track but on the streets there are many deaths each year from racing.

Vasco, official Cougar "central" is on Hwy 7 and Leslie in Richmond Hill

Marlowe, The Keg, Jack Astors and Fox and Fiddle are all in the same complex. Then you can try the "Brix" restaurant across the street. Thursday/Friday nights you will find many cougars prowling for prey....

    LOL

There is no price for a life, unfortunatelly we can't bring them back. You are quoting 2 incidents from 2007, 1 from 2008, 1 from 2009, and another from 2010. The police are now glorified tax collectors spending our hard earned dollars on stupid things like this. Look at the video of the Gumballers driving in to Ontario, how many dollars of Police overtime was paid that day, one video showed in excess of 125 cars between the QC border and Shannonville. Heck this is worse than the Motorcycle gangs witch hunt a few years back. (what did all those task force dollars get? 50-75 convictions, most of the gangers were undercover cops anyways, hey I knew one of them) and the gangs and mafias are still there
I don't invent the stats, I honestly thought they were worse. Look them up. People have always done crazy things in cars, (hey I've done them, much wiser now, no tickets in over 10 years) but get a life. Racers over crime, guns, assults. I guess the conviction rate is better + returns on the fines. The % are down year over year according to NHTSAs 2002 and prior numbers. Statistically Canada is 10% of US do the math 13, maybe 15 deaths, 50 injuries nationally versus all the other crimes. And when you plan a track event they park a mile away and pick cars out of the line, just like shooting ducks. Just pisses me off. And now they search the forums for people who mouth off, maybe it will get worse and just like people who own pornography are rapists, people who own cars with more than 300HP are automatically guilty. Paranoia at it's best just like the Minority report movie, the law now includes a dozen sudjective things that can be called racing, inflating the numbers, to get even more money for more overtime, speed cameras and so on. Totally ridiculous. What a shame.

Its this kind of post that solidifies the feeling in me that common sense is no longer common. The police are quite capable of multitasking. You make it sound like they are out to do one thing only. Sorry but last time I saw a cop driving around I thought he was looking for a whole slew of infractions that could happen. I didnt know that while he was looking for street racers that the CIBC bank being robbed across the street was no longer a priority.
One also has to remember that there are many that dont make the media. So many of us seem to think that everything that happens is on the news the next day. It isnt. What about the people that end up crippled(and there are many of them) because of these idiots. Im not saying you cant open her up now and then but at least take it up north on an open road.

What is that, 5 deaths in a 3 year period? OH NO! This must be the greatest threat to public safety, ever! The media and politicians have done a fantastic job of blowing this issue out of proportion as evidenced by all the sheep buying into the hype. Give me a break, sheesh.

I don't by any means whatsoever condone street racing, but people need to realize that there are MUCH larger issues that should be taking priority.

The demonization of street racing is now firmly entrenched in the common folk's consciousness. That'll never change.

Read the Michael Bryant puff piece in the latest Toronto Life to understand how it happened. Just like Bryant did with the dogs, he found that he could sell an anti-street racing agenda to the public and the legislature, see the new legislation through and promote the hell out of it, solely for the sake of his career.

No need to debate further that the intent is right, but the law itself is too broad.
